Hearing Loss
I just got a copy of my C&P by QTC in May of this year and by the opinion of the examiner my hearing loss is at least as not the result of my military service! Does this mean what I think it does? After nearly 30 odd years an examiner agrees with me as where my hearing loss started? My hearing is really bad at 52% speech recogniztion in my left ear and deaf in my right or CNT. Can anyone give me an idea what to expect as far as rating and what date. I first applied in 83 and was denied and then let it close but tried to reopen in 03 and the VA denied to open because no new material. Now this doctor is saying that the descrepancies in m exam and discharge shou…

ptsd Advice On What To Do Just Got 90% Rating.
Hi Everybody, this is my first post here, but a long time reader. I need advice on what to do now that I just received an increase to 90%. Basically my ratings are as follows 50 ptsd, 50 migraines, 20 for chronic diahrea, gerd, gastritis, ulcers, 20 chronic back strain, 10 tinnitus, 10 flat feet, 0 deviated septum I am going to appeal 20 that I recently received for gastro probs and increase that was denied for deviated septum, been rated since 2003. I want to file for TDIU or try to get 100 PT, but I have a job working in a Federal Prison as a Officer for 10 years that I can barely take anymore with med mix, so I would file for FERS disability too. I cant afford to quit …

This Is Way Beyond Being Ethical.
First off, my husband's claim in appeals is for schizophrenia. He went to 2 c&p exams last week. Over the past 2 years, we have sent in a form from him saying they need to deal with me since I'm trying to keep him stress-free as possible. We've sent this form 4 different time, even faxing it, yet they've still not "received it" Ok, this morning, the lovely VA calls my husband to tell him that unless he submits new & material evidence, they are dropping his appeal. I'm beyond livid that they are 1) upsetting him when they clearly know his is a mental health issue, 2) refuse to acknowledge any of the forms we've send in for me to be able to handle this inst…

What Format Does The Va Use For Mri/ct Scan Storage?
I have finally been assigned to the Polytrauma center at my VA hospital for chiropractor treatment. My doctor asked me to get my MRI scans that I had from my local hospital in 2008 and 2010. I went to the imaging center and they gave me a CD of the requested reports. It is in the IDX Imagecast format and autoruns in Windows. There is another format called DICOM, but I was not given a copy of this. Can the VA convert IDX to DICOM, or will I have to request another copy in the latter format? Any information is grately appreciated!

Rheumatology
I have been pretty sick for quite few months now. Perhaps about 9 months. Ist I had surgery for blockage for prostate and that about killed me as I almost kicked the bucket during surgery. Stopped breathing and wound up in ICU for a few days. Then I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, now on a bipap machine. And just about the same the same time PN went severe. Just got a call earlier today that my blood test came back diagnosed with rheumatology. Knees are swelling up pretty bad make it difficult to walk. Anyhow, I remember when I was in the military, I had an motorcycle accident in which both knees had rocks and gravel taken out an an hospital. Pretty painful. Anyb…

Can your Primary Doctor fill out a DBQ form on a Veteran, or does it have to be done at the C&P level? I have a Valvular Heart Disease with a secondary condition of an aorta aneurysm, and would like the primary, and the cardiologist to fill the form out.

Great Claims Advise
The other day Broncovet made a statement in a reply in a sub forum here that was so important I wanted to copy and post it in Claim's Research but I had satellite dish problems lately and couldn't save it and still cannot find where he posted it. He made the point that many claimants do not read their decision carefully enough to understand why the VA denied. That ,to me, is the main reason many claims go on and on for years in the appeal process. I am sure he also made the point that the VCAA letter must be read over carefully. Not just when you receive it but at many stages of the appeal process when you prepare any responses to VA or seek more evidence. S…
