Help Finding Medical Records
My last duty station was Garden City, NY. I was discharged in 2000. While there I was seen for medical at the Mitchell Field medical clinic. They sent us out to other Drs. I was treated by a back surgeon on Long Island but have no idea who she was. I have requested my medical records from Mitchell Field but they were destroyed in 2007. I would think that TriCare would have billing records but was told to ask my duty station for them. I asked Garden City and they do not have any records. The records are not in my service files as I have all those copies. Any ideas? Has anyone requested and recieved records from TriCare?

Forcing Va To Deal Directly With Caregiver - How?
My Dad served four years in the USN during Korea. He has been receiving a VA pension for a number of years. In 2006, he was diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer and told he had a year to live. He did pretty well until the end of last year, but on 1/20/12 his oncologist told him he has six months. (No he has not been using the VA medical system because he had very good supplemental Medicare insurance and we've heard so many horror stories.) Since 1/20/12, he has gone downhill fast. He is getting weaker and weaker, something the hospice nurses tell me is typical for someone with his diagnosis. He will most likely be bedridden in about a month or two, and at that point wi…

Need Va Guidelines/regs/etc. For Mobility Scooter
I find myself tired after a couple hundred feet of walking and need to rest awhile before continuing. Not out of breath, just tired and aching joints. I have recently rented a scooter at Disney World, Sea World, and boardwalks and have good experiences. I have disabled vet plates and a placard I use when renting a vehicle. A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated. Regards, Jon

Parkinson's Disease And Tce Exposure
How many post Vietnam veterans are out there dealing with Parkinson’s disease or symptoms similar to Parkinson’s? Facts are: Parkinson's disease (PD) is one of the most common neurologic disorders. It affects roughly 1.5 million Americans. The Veterans Health Administration treats an estimated 40,000 veterans with PD each year. Recent studies link Parkinson’s to TCE which is a chemical that was common on military bases. Multiple military bases are on the EPA and ATSDR list.
