Should I file PACT Act, Depressed Mood, Coronary Artery Disease, Spine/Neck
Since 2015 when I retired I've been 80% which includes 60% Chronic Fatigue, 30% Insomnia, 10% Hemorrhoids. My VA psychiatrist (who happens to also be the Hospital Chief of Staff) has strongly advised me multiple times to file for a service connection under the PACT Act. I've strongly disagreed with him since I do not see a PACT Act connection (other than possibly using DEET and as supply troop regularly disposing of toxic substances - none identified in the PACT Act). He, my psychiatrist has told me that it would likely get approved and I should say that toxin exposure has exacerbated my behavioral health issues. I do not feel comfortable filing under the PACT Act ho…

How do I file for chronic multisymptom illnes?
I’ve done a bit of research and see that’s chronic multi symptom illness is a presumptive condition that the VA recognizes now. I have never seen a physician classify specific items into that group however, I have many of the issues that are considered presumptive under that umbrella. How would I file for chronic multisymptom illness. Would I use that as the title and then provide documentation showing my myriad of issues that fall under the umbrella of presumptive service connection?

Need you opinion on this outcome. Should I be worried?
VA lawyer opened High Level Review for backpay I should have gotten for years of denials without my permission. I was angry but decided to let it ride. Originally was denied from 2019 to 2022 then got 100% P&T on those denied claims with enough rating to qualify for SMC-S (170%) but didn't get it for some unknown reason. I decided not to "Poke the Bear" because I was more than happy where I was at. Fast forward to a couple days ago and noticed decision was made. Turns out they noticed their error and bumped me to SMC-S with $8000 in backpay. Then looked again and it changed to "Duty to Assist" "We failed to get federal records. We will develop for VAMC …

VA Approved Power Wheelchair - Any idea what brands or kinds they provide?
The past few months have been medically challenging. One of the things going on is that my Orthopedic doctor says we have reached the end of what we can do for my knees and shoulder. Because of various risk factors, I am not a suitable candidate for a TKR. The arthritis will continue to get worse, and currently, the pain is so bad I cannot walk; I was on anti-inflammatory meds that helped. Had another ulcerative colitis attack, so no pain meds for me. They don't want me taking anything that has ulcer risks. They said someone would call me to schedule an appointment to see which chair would work best for me. Just curious what I might be looking at. I've heard it…

The Creeping Crud
I have no idea what you call this, so please bear with me while I explain. Many receipt printers use paper that reacts to an electrified stylus, leaving the information behind. Little did we know, this process produces an airborne by-product, albeit in miniscule amounts. Now, imagine a printer 2-feet wide, running 24/7, constantly giving off this residue. Then imagine an array with dozens of these printers. Now the levels of this by-product starts to become significant. Again, imagine a watchfloor containing dozens of these arrays, all running continuously, manned by a team of humans, all breathing in this residue. We OTAs called it The Creeping Crud becau…

Diverticulitis secondary to IBS
I have recently submitted a claim for Diverticulitis secondary to IBS. I’m maxed out on IBS at 30%. My diverticulitis causes a lot of distress and as such, it makes me lose a lot of work. 1-2 days a month for appointments, 1-2 days off of work for symptoms and an additional 1-2 days off a month for hospitalizations. I should be good to go as my VA doctor filled out a DBQ and opined it was at least as likely as not aggravated by IBS. Do you believe the VA will lump the diverticulitis in with IBS or will they rate it some other way. thanks!

Problems Secondary to a DVT
I am rated at 60% SC for a DVT in my right leg (40%) and Raynaud's Syndrome (40%). I have applied for an increase along with adding arthritis my left knee, due to an uneven gait and was denied, and the arthritis is not SC. I have appealed this finding but have been told that an increase in the DVT and Raynaud's is almost impossible. I have applied for my back as being secondary to my DVT because of an uneven gait. My right leg is larger than my left, and has been since my DVT in 1989, this has caused my pelvis to be tilted to the left. I believe this has led to the scoliosis that I now have and sciatica. I went to a C&P exam and the examiner noted all of my probl…
