Hypertentsive Vasular Disease
When I retired from the military back in 1984 I was already on meds for HBP. On my exit claim I was SC for Hypertentsive Vasular Disease (7101) at 0%. Is this the same as HBP? Have been on meds since and see the doc every 4 months for all of my ailments including The HBP. The HBP is controlled with meds. How hard would it be to get an increase. They sent me a questionaire to fill out before my C&P for my spine last year and I listed EVERYTHING on that and the meds I take for each one. Does your BP have to be high all the time to get an increase. I have a claim working now so this is for the second round. Just doing research.

Med Records List Incorrect Limb.
I've been reviewing my VA stuff due to wanting to pursue having my claim looked at and hopefully getting a higher percentage rating for several issues that have become worse over the past couple of years. One thing I noticed after reading carefully was the fact that the Corpsman who looked at my crushed right foot listed it as being my left foot at the time. I'm having major pain with the right one and they turned me down the first time stating that the left foot was the one that was injured. I've had to have 2 cortisone shots within the past 2 weeks and am now getting orthotics due to the damage and walking incorrectly now. There is constant pain and without the corti…

ptsd Got My Letter With Ptsd Denial / Non-Sc Pension Awarded
I started the "Devastated, Worried...PTSD/all denied" thread but decided to start a new one starting with what my letter says. (I received it today.) I am bouncing back from my first response of being depressed and worried. A lot of it is due to all the help here. I truly felt devastated, and very worried. My "unofficial-but-wife" was very understanding and patient with me which helped a lot. I want to say thanks to those of you who have been helping me with ideas: Tbird Carlie SP4RVN1971 Pete53 Hoppy Mystic steve&pat deanbrt 68mustang boomer2 Capt.contaminate I will continue to appreciate any help and response. I have a few questions about t…

Importance Of Taking Medical Records To A C&p Exam
Wow !! If I had not taken many of my medical records with me to my recent general medical C&P exam for IU. I would have never been able to convince the examiner that events occurred, like times that I have fallen when my legs go out. I said that I have the record and he asked to see it and I showed him the entries about the falls that were highlighted, he said ok I ll give you that one. The mental health examiner used my records to enter everything into the computer. I had highlighted the most important stuff. After he input the info into the computer he read everything back to me to see if I agree. I did I m so happy I took many of my records.

ptsd Stressor Letters
Just a little information I found while preparing my claim last January. US Veterans Compensation Programs has some very good examples of stressor letters. Once you are at the site, check the drop down on the left about two-thirds down. Three sections to the format: Life Before Military Service: Life During Military Servive and Life After Military Service. Helpful for all PTSD claims including PTSD/MST.

ptsd Wife And Caregiver Of Totally Disabled Vet
My husband is a Vietnam vet. He applied for PTSD 3 years ago and has been denied. He appealed, had another exam about a year ago, still waiting to heal. We are sure that they chalk his PTSD to his other condition. A little history: Over 20 years ago my husband was in an accident and suffered a severe brain injury. The catastrophic injury has left him in a wheelchair and I have to take full care of him. He has severe short term memory problems and needs help with every daily existence. He has no VA benefits because of the, I think 2003 law change about qualifying. I think he can qualify for housebound but not sure. My question is should he wait until we hear about…
