Forearm Hernia Claim?
Hello, I was hoping to get a second opinion on a potential claim. While in service I had a radical tenosynovectomy which is service connected. I am also service connected for the scar from said surgery. That surgery caused a hernia on my forearm. The size of muscle coming through is about 2.5 inches long by about 1 inch wide. I was wondering if this should be a pretty straight forward claim or what I might need to consider or prepare for? I believe this claim would fall under 38 CFR § 4.73, Schedule of Ratings – Muscle Injuries, Diagnostic Code 5326. Seems pretty straight forward to me but again it's the VA and there always seems t…

NAVY and Sleep Apnea (Trump)
I am trying to find out... What Trump did to change how the NAVY is eligible for sleep apnea disability. I heard and saw an article awhile back (But can't find it) how how if someone served in the United States NAVY and lived or was stationed on a ship for 2 or more yrs that if they tested positive to have sleep apnea that it was pretty much a sure thing that they would qualify for the disability of Sleep apnea. Does anyone have a lead on this type of information.. It would be wonderful.

Claim time frame
Good afternoon all, I am a little confused after talking to a VA rep. on the phone. So,I just signed out on terminal leave and will be officially retired after 21yrs in the Army. I did a BBA claim,I think that's what it's called through my VSO and had all my CP exams done by QTC in May. I called the VA to make sure they received my DD214 and as we were talking the later said that all my C&P exam DBQs are in my file and so is my DD214, but she also said that they wont even start my claim until 01Sept..which is the day iam as I said be retired and also reflected on my DD214. So my question is, why would they sit on my claims until then if they have everything …

meds for non-service connected condition causes disability?
I assume that if the VA prescribes meds for a s-c disability and those meds end up causing new additional disabilities, they are responsible for the new disability. But is the VA also responsible for a new disability if they prescribe meds for a non-service- connected but treated medical issue over a long period of time and the veteran develops a new "disability"? Example , the veteran is prescribed b/p meds for non s-c hypertension, but the meds, over time, cause a new problem that has a diagnostic code and you can link the 2. What do you think?

Questions on my current claim and outcome
OK first off this is my first post and I know from previous sites I need to get down the proper etiquette on a forum so don't bash me to hard. Second how do I get rid.of all the ads on the site? Anyways my question is i am I. The gathering evidence stage had my c n p a 2 months ago and I was looking at the examiners notes . said direct service connection and the diagnosis was clarification of the adjustment disorder assigned in service. I started obsessing over my claim like of most of us all do and as I was fumbling through my records I saw records before I was in the army for mental health showing I had an adjustment disorder. I was on tricare being an army brat so I g…

Can you file Temporary 100% for Convalescence Retroactively
How long to you have to file for temporary 100% convalescence for surgery on a service-connected condition? I asked a VSO this question and he said I can file retroactively. so I put in a claim for surgery that was done in 2010. But since, I have heard, and read a BVA case, where you only have a year to file. I need to know whether or not to withdraw the claim. The VA is scheduling me for knee exam that is being scheduled that I believe is unnecessary. I am sure it is being scheduled because of my request for retroactive pay, however I already had a knee exam on 21 April 2016 as part of a re-evaluation exam.. The 2016 exam should be sufficient to determi…

I really wish I had come across this site a lot sooner. Thanks for the support. I applied for compensation because I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I deployed to the Gulf War for 9 months. It has been a yr since I submitted my claim. I am just now at prep for a decision phase. I really want to know if I stand a chance with getting an approval. Or should I prepare for an appeal? Army Strong!
