Cancer linked to Agent Orange Exposure
My father was diagnosed today with prostate cancer and the doctor found cancer on his kidney. The doctor (private) said that the prostate cancer is connected to his service in Vietnam and exposure to Agent Orange. Since the cancer was found in two locations, it makes things from a medical perspective a bit more complicated. I believe my father has 10% disability for hearing loss…should be more for several other issues, but he was too proud to complain or be completely open with the VA doctor during the exam. I’ve tried to call the VA today to figure out what they can do from a medical and compensation perspective, but the main 800 number just goes in circles. B…

BVA
So 11/7 I recurved a letter stating about lawyer fees. What total amount granted was and of that what lawyer is getting out of it. Now I can do basic math so I k ow what I'm getting. Simple right...no nothing from VA on this since 11/7 almost 30 days ago and when I call they will not answer a question directly instead you get a run around and then they say anything else I can help with when they didn't help at all. So can anyone help me. How long after BVA grants does it take to get retro pay? Why is it they they can't just give an answer in plain English?

NSAIDS
Hello Folks, I have upper gi bleeding and was taken off NSAIDs while in the military due to they raised my BP and gi issues. So I’m SC for my HBP and GERD. My question is this new va doctor game me more NSAIDs despite the gi doctor giving a letter to the pain clinic and it is in my record and flags this when I check in. What in the world can I do to stop getting NSAIDs ? As for gi, I have gerd, barrettes esophagus, and other gi issues but the pharmacy still dispensed. ~~Goofy

Diagnosed w/Peritoneal Mesothelioma
I was diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma Sept. 2017. Underwent surgery and they removed gall bladder and a large portion of liver as well to remove the tumors. I filed a claim in march 2018, the completion date is set for 10/04/2018 which was yesterday. I am 62, married and raising our grandson. The pathology report declared the tumors were of the epitheloid mesothelioma cell of the peritoneum. I keep reading on pretty much all the web sites that my kind or type of cases are completed in about 120 days give or take,,, I'm closing in on 180 +. I have an attorney who filed my fully developed claim for me. I guess my question to anyone who has gone though this is, …

Missing claim AGAIN
Ok I have a problem again, I filed a claim for a service connected injury for a Total knee replacement on 4/15/2018 all necessary paperwork including VA forms were submitted, that claim somewhat disappeared 4 months later, so I submitted a second total knee replacement claim on 08/01/2018 they have labeled it as a secondary condition claim because I had to have it done all over again to replace the total knee again I had in the first place so in another words I had two total knee replacements on the same knee., I submitted all necessary VA forms and documentations as before, this morning on 09/14/2018 I was notified that I need to submit evidence all over again and I have…

KEVLAR HELMET and neck problems
has anyone ever filed and won a claim for neck problems due to long term use of the heavy kevlar helmets being used nowdays,. I have lots of neck issues and sometimes wonder if the long term wearing of an extra large kevlar helmet took its toll on my neck. While being deployed during the desert storm/shield campaign, we wore the helmets almost constantly for the entire 5.5 months we were there. only taken off while in the tent to sleep/shower/ ect. That adds up to ALOT of hours ac cumulatively wearing an ill fitting heavy object on your head.

back increase after major surgery
Hello all, i became 100% IU with a 90% overall with the knowledge and advice from the brothers and sisters on this site. Thank you. I was given a 20% upgrade from 10% a year ago. Since then i had a major 13 level spinal fusion which has pretty much kicked my arse so to speak. My goal, 100% P&T. I am looking for advice on direction? Not crazy about VSO's. Bad experience. to say the least. its been almost 11 months since surgery. This is general info i know. i have particulars and a paper trail from here to China and back. anyone?
