This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. If you were injured in service and have a question about whether you are entitled to file a claim, post it here. Law 38C.F.R.3.4 (a)

TBI Approved at 10%- But at least it was Approved
Folks: First- my TBI was finally approved at 10% and I'm very very thankful for the SC rating for TBI . It was a long and arduous path to get there with doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists and at least I have a starting point now. Frankly, I've never "opened up" to a mental health person before and that was very difficult for me to do? I've lived with the same constant headaches and memory issues for many many years since the Tank Main Gun Explosion and it's finally on the record now-as it should be. This also moved me from 80% to 90% in terms of my overall rating so at least I'm moving in the right direction. My wife has been very worried about my memory iss…

Gerd, IBS, and Urinary Incontinence secondary to NSAIDS
I am getting ready to file an FDC claim for IBS-C, Gerd, and Incontinence secondary to NSAIDS and wanted to see if anyone has any opinions or suggestions, if i might have missed anything. So here goes. I have been on a high daily dose of NSAIDS to treat my sc systemic lupus for well over seven years. About two years ago, i began having moderate gastro problems, that has worsened to the point that these conditions are almost as bad as the lupus, which leaves me bedridden about a week a month. Every time i go to urgent care for the lupus, i complained of the constipation, abdominal pain, nausea, and at times, vomiting. After about a year of these symptoms worsening, i was d…

Spouse as caregiver
Hi All, Hope everything is going ok. The more I search (online) the more disillusioned I become. The issue I am searching for is "spouse as caregiver for a pre-911 100% SC disabled veteran program" Does anyone have any info that would point me in the right direction? Also, this is for a SCI veteran (myself having MS I recently found out MS is considered a SCI) Thank you. HG

TBI --- My Recent Journey
Vets: Overall, I've had a bit of a frustrating journey as I've tried to ensure that the residual effects from an in service Tank Main Gun explosion early in my Army Tanker Career would at least be recorded and the effects on my body and mind be noted officially-in case I deteriorate more as I age. Back then they just did not have the TBI protocols that we have now over the last 2 wars. I've just turned 55 and have headaches, memory and cognitive issues that I've had every sense the explosion in the mid 1980's. Over the years, I've set up cleaver systems with notes and recording mechanisms so I can still function and cope with my daily activities. My son once said, …

Training Classes
Are there any classes veterans can attend to learn VA procedure and law. It would seem helpful to both sides for veterans to know proper procedure when filing paperwork (claims, CUES, NOD's, Form 9, etc). The VA benefits by better developed claims and less stress deciding what evidence is important.

ptsd Denied Sleep Apnea in two days
My sleep Apnea/secondary to ptsd claim was opened and closed in less than two todays. From what I can gather the VA used the ACE process (I never had a c&p) The doctor used a sleep study conducted in 2012 to make a determination for a claim filed in Dec 2015. I also noted some statements in the DBQ that are not factual such as Im not on any sleep meds (I have been since 2010 provided by the VA) The Doctor also mentioned I don't take meds for ptsd which is not the case I have since 2005. The Doctor also stated the sleep study mentioned that I have a large when in fact the study makes no mention of my next size at all. I should mention the claim was combined with an ED …

I really need you guys help!
I got my rating back. I went from 60% to 90%. The problem is they denied my pancreatitis that would have given me 100%. I want to know the quickest way to get them to correct this? The VA stated "medical evidence of record fail to show that this disability has been "clinically diagnosed". The evidence does not show a current diagnosed disability". This is wrong! The C&P doctor diagnosed me with pancreatitis and this statement is directly from her notes 8. Remarks, if any 1. Veteran's current claimed and diagnosed GI symptoms is at least as likely as not (50 percent or greater probability) a continuation and/or progression of the Veteran's already service c…

Thankful for 100% P&T
I just want to thank the members of hadit.com from whom I learned how to handle a DRO Appeal which resulted in me being awarded 100% Permanent and Total. I was for many years 30% service connected and finally was increased to 80% in 2001. I have finally received service connection for Bipolar Disorder after many many years. I must tell all of you out there that you can never give up! I finally feel peace! Never ever give up!
