ptsd 100% Ptsd Rating That I Don't Want
WARNING, LONG POST I'll go ahead and clear the air here; I know this is going to upset a lot of Veterans that have been seeking a strong rating and have been denied. My apologies, I'm not trying to sound ungrateful here. Here's the situation: I am a full-time educator who has been working for several months (successfully). I was at a 50% PTSD rating for the the past four years, but recently went in for my re-evaluation. Terrified of the outcome and possible reduction, I went in prepared; I had my list of symptoms, I wrote down the worst days I've had recently, and I was open and honest with the evaluator. Today, I received notice that my rating for PTSD and depress…

Back And Spine Ratings
Does anyone out there have any experiences with having a incorrect VA rating? I currently receive 20% percent VA disability rating and the VA has it classified as "BACK STRAIN" and "ARTHRITIS". It is well documented in my medical records that my back injury occured while on active duty back in 1998. Degenerative Disk Disease (DDD) does not sound like a "Back Strain" and "Arthritis". Back in March, I submitted a VA Form 21-4138 (Statement in Support Of Claim) to get my VA rating increased from 20% percent. On May 9th the VA Regional Office (Wichita, KS) set me up for a C&P (Comp and Pension) exam. The examiner was not a doctor or specialist to no surprise at all, an…

LHI? Anyone had any experiences previously?
I was contacted and sent to LHI for ratings increase on PTSD. I was of course on edge just because and then going to a unknown contractor bothered me a bit. But as I read on here they listed the doctors name and credentials which I used to investigate the doctor and liked what I found. I showed up to the appointment and expected the appointment to last at least half as long as they paperwork called for which was about an hour and a half. Appointment time was 0800 hrs and I was back out the door and in my car by 0825. Now to the nitty gritty. It was not bad at all. The doctor had reviewed all of my stressors prior to me coming in and we did not speak of them at all …

ptsd C&p 5-Year Reevaluation?
Hello gentleman, I am a new member on the site. Thank you for having me! I'll tell you a little bit about myself.. Background: (Feel free to skip down to present day for the actual concern) I was discharged from the Marine Corps in 2008, due to mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I have struggled with these issues ever since, and am still struggling to this very day. Shortly after being discharged, I was contacted by the VA to come in for a C&P exam to determine a course of action. In 2010, I received a rating of 50% for the issues mentioned above. I had a follow-up exam 6-months later, and my rating was increased from 50% to 80%…

ptsd Ptsd C&p: Surprising To Say The Least
I had the PTSD C&P exam today that I've been worrying about for the past couple of weeks. The wife had us on a tight schedule so we made it to the QTC building exactly at the time of the appointment. Needless to say I was a click away from full freak out mode, but I refused to take any medications. The staff was pleasant, took my paperwork, and the Doctor came out and got me and the wife almost immediately. Super friendly guy, he has a private practice and travels down to my neck of the woods once a week for QTC. I'm so glad he had the "bedside manner" he did, or I would have probably had a nervous breakdown in front of my wife. The examination was like nothing I …

Veterans Evaluation Services - Houston
Has anybody out there had any dealings with a company called Veterans Evaluation Services? Apparently, the VA has contracted with them to perform C&P examinations and testing on veterans. I see from their website that they are apparently headquartered near Houston. I was called yesterday (Saturday) by a representative of this company (called me from a Tennessee telephone number) who advised me to call an 877 number on Monday to schedule my C&P examination. He did not know what conditions I was being examined for. (I have several, but tons of medical documentation on a few). He was polite, and told me that he simply didn't know, but that I would learn more …

hypertension Compensation & Pension (C&p) Exams Aka Disability Worksheets
Many who come into this Forum often ask, "What is involved in my C&P?" Well, usually the person can call the number in the notice and ask what the C&P is to cover. Once known, the following could be of help. They are the worksheets showing what the examiner should be covering for that specific exam. I have also included at the bottom a couple of sites on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) that is not in the list, but might be of use to some. Here is the link so if the list ever gets outdated, you can access the link for the latest: http://www.vba.va.go...exams/index.htm Here is the list of the index (in link form) (with the addition of the MS note) to make it eas…

C&p For Lower Back - Insight From My Examination
Hi everyone, I had a C&P for my lower back yesterday and wanted to provide some insight for those who might have an upcoming C&P for a lower back issue. The examiner came out to meet in the waiting area, where it appeared he was monitored how I got up from my chair and how I walked to the exam room. Once we entered the exam room he looked at my file and asked the following questions: when did the injury first occur, last time I was seen for my back by the VA or outside clinician, and medications and procedures that I have had. He continued to read my chart and entered some things into the computer. While reading my chart he asked that I remove my shoes and sh…
