Dsm-V Vs Dsm-Iv On Sc Comp Claim ?
Rating Question Beginning when, IF actually a VA mandated Policy for 2014/15 Claims, is the DSM-V to be used for rating SC Claims? In early 2014, I began MH counseling in Florida. My 1st diagnoses in Feb 2014 had a GAF of 45. Several times until Sept, 2014, the MH team rated me at 45. Sept was the last time my regular CBOC MH team used GAF's on Notes. My C & P exam was Mar. 2015. The VA Psych only reported the use of DSM-V criteria. A few days ago, Apr 6, 2015, a VA MD / Psychiatrist (substituting for my regular CBOC, MH person stated me having a GAF of 55. I am awaiting my Rating. Ebenefits still shows "Pending Decision Approval." I 'd…

C&p Ptsd Scheduled For Increase (At 50% From Original Award Back On '06) -- So Much Has Happened Since, Not Sure Of What Will Help/harm Me
Please help this broken Marine. Hello, I have a c&p exam scheduled for the end of April 2015 and I'm wired extremely tight thinking about it. I was awarded 50% service-connected for PTSD in 2006 for combat/traumatic events in OIF II 2004. I submitted my increase claim several years ago and I just received the call for the appointment last night. Here is where I'm very confused on to what I should or should not share: Since my original award I've gone straight downward in regards to symptoms improving, social, work, school have been a disaster. I was employed several different times and most recently (2 weeks ago) fired for misconduct (anxiety/anger outbursts--fo…

ptsd Related To "do I Have Ptsd" Post
I didn't want to hijack his thread, so I started this one. If you are already SC for Severe Depression, but have a stressor (non-combat) and symptoms of PTSD, how do you go about changing it from 1 to the other? Im currently seeing both Psychiatric and Psychologist, 1 monthly (for now) and 1 weekly. Im 'employed' in the sense that im on FMLA leave for depression, anxiety, mood flare ups, lapses of concentration of anything but rote memory procedures, memory blanks, insomnia. I work as a support engineer for hospital location systems for patient safety and over the last year and a half ive had over 40 absences from work mostly due to above, and performance issues as …

ptsd Questions On Ptsd Claims Approval Process
Hello fellow Veterans and friends, Summary: Last June, I filed a FDC (1st ever) for PTSD, both Combat & MST. The VA changed it to a regular claim. A month ago I had my C & P. The VA Psychologist's opinion was a Yes on both items, and listed both Stressors. He also said both were Service Connected. Today, I went to Ebenefits and saw terms new to me. It looks like my claim was reviewed by a VSR and is now gone on to the next step "Pending Decision Approval." There was also a notation: "Development Letter Sent." Could someone please explain what the latter term means ? Also does anybody know if I will get a combined rating? Thanks to all.

ptsd Continuing Ptsd Treatment To Keep Rating
Just wondering if I am confused about this issue...I don't uunderstand why you must be in treatment for PTSD to continue your payments...I have been suffering since 1986 And only recently recieved a rating 50%. The thinking that if you are not getting treatment they assume you are getting better doesn't hold water..I didn't get treatment for 30 years and I didn't get better. I have been thru CBT at my VAMC and it made me worse. Think about it.....

ptsd Third Try To Get Ptsd
I was stationed in Germany and got attached to a unit that was going to desert storm, I'm a female. my rank was SGT/E-5, I didn't have a particular job assignment, I drove for a LT. for about a month then got sent on some of the dumbest details. yes I was an E-5 anyway after we landed we were in this hangar then we went to the field, the following day I was detailed out to go and police up the area where we left our vehicle stopped we got out and bodies were just everywhere. I don't remember anything after that until I wake up in my cot. I know we were not sent there to clean up that, it was just one of those things. no one talked about it and to my knowledge no one…

ptsd Opm Disability For Sc Ptsd
Was just approved for OPM disability retirement for the service connected PTSD. The government didn't deny and remand that one like the VA did. They put me on interim pay but I'm not sure what that is yet. Also get the health insurance back for my 7 year old son. Now to work on the P&T claim.
