ptsd Filed Va Benefits Claim Before Going To Va Mental Health Center
I went in to see the DAV representative and he said even though I haven't been treated by the VA for PTSD that I should submit the disability claim for compensation. He then said I should visit the VA mental health center to get treatment and a confirmed diagnosis. Should I have gone into the VA mental health clinic first? I'm going into the clinic for the first time today to start treatment. My symptoms have been getting worse and worse over the past year to the point that I can't take them anymore. I didn't know where to go first so I went in to the DAV. If I go into the VA Medical center now and they give me a confirmed PTSD diagnosis, will the VA still be able to …

Fiduciary Appointed
The DAV sent me a letter saying "The claimant is not competent to handle disbursement of funds" I'm OK with this cause it's true. But a new claim has also been opened in ebenefits in the predetermination phase. Since I have no open claims I don't understand what this means. I know many people warn against fiduciaries but it will be my mom and I have many financial problems.

Any Thoughts? Level Of Disability Marked Different From The Symptoms Checked In C & P Evaluation
I have been waiting around 175 days since my C & P evaluation and well over 300 days since my claim was received by the VA. I have checked my regional office claim statistics (Chicago) and this is well over the average days pending. The comments on the C & P evaluation diagnose me with PTSD, bi-polar (a cyclothymic disorder), anxiety and depression all of which cannot be separated from each other. The C & P examiner indicates I should be at the 10% range by checking the box corresponding to the 10% PTSD description, but many of the comments and symptoms he checked correlate with the 30% and 50% descriptions, does anyone have experience with this? Also, is …

ptsd I'm Unsure What To Do?
I have two claims pending, one for depression secondary to tinnitus and another for PTSD (recurrent dreams nightmares). I have seen a VA psychiatrist, twice, and answered questions that he asked , but that was a direct result of contact with the Veterans Crisis Line, as I have suicidal ideations and still do. We hardly spoke at all about my PTSD issues, though to me I feel it is all connected. I am still waiting and finally have an appointment with a social worker that is going to set up therapy. In Ebenifits they are asking for more information for the PTSD claim. So I went to see my DAV SO to ask how to respond. My SO was not in, so I spoke with someone else that t…

ptsd Vet In Need Of Good Advice For Va Claim Legal Advice Would Help The Most
Hello I my name is jerrod and I've had a long haul and exhausting trial thru the VA. Alright I am going to start this long and drawn out story from the time I got out of the military, so bare with me.Ok here it goes I got out of the military in 2008 with a medical discharge and was awarded 10% thru the military for PTSD. I joined the class action lawsuit in 2010 for Sabo vs military and turned around and rewarded for an 30% increase for PTSD back to the date i got out which was great news. Va rated me for the Same when I first got out right but hasn't yet looked at it and went back and changed it. Well i think that they should have to go back and look at there original ev…

Mmpi-2 Warning
I could never figure out why my C and P examiner threw out my MMPI-2 scores. But I think I figured it out. I have dyslexia and the test is filled with double negative questions. I had a headache after the test in an already stressful situation. If you have dyslexia beware of the MMPI-2.

ptsd Ptsd And Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Medically retired Nov of last year with a combined rating of 80%. (70% Ptsd (mst).10% left wrist tendinitis,10% right wrist tendinitis.) As of Nov 2014 all of my ratings are the same, however the va started a claim for a PTSD increase May 2014. I truly had no idea. One day of fiddling around on ebennies and I stumbled across the open claim. My main question is what warranted the va's need to increase my disability? Please don't confuse my question with disapproval. I just didn't know the Va could do that. As a matter of fact I was attempting to file an increase on ebenefits for my PTSD when I saw one was started on my behalf. It's been almost 2 months since my c&p…

ptsd Started My Ptsd
Good Morning all, Just to let you all know that I submitted my PTSD claim yesterday while I was at the VARO for an appointment at the PTSD Clinic. I received the diagnosis on the 1st of November at the VA, wrote my stresser letter and submitted everything (including the diagnosis paperwork) for a FDC. A little background...I was a medic with the Infantry in Vietnam in 1969 (awarded the CMB within 2 weeks in-country), had a heart attack in May of this year that got me off my butt to start the disability claim process. Received 60% for Agent Orange - Presumptive for the heart attack and now starting down the road for the PTSD claim. We'll see how it goes!

ptsd Problems Secondary To Ptsd
Is it possible for me to file claims for problems associated with PTSD like psychosis, stomach problems, memory problems and headaches? I also noticed that the doctor had written rule out schizophrenia. If they diagnose me with that should I apply for that as well? I also have severe sleep apnea but was told by the VBA rep that if I had no proof of diagnosis while in service that I would be wasting my time. I wanted to see if that was possible once my appeal is finally done I have more to apply a claim about (knee, ankle). I figure that if I apply for it all at once it would be easier. Right now I am gathering information for my knee and ankle since the VA won't…
