Who Does The C&p ?
First, thanks to all of you that have posted and given me advice. Especially Berta & Carlie. Is the Psych Dr. that I am seeing now, "the first and only", preparing a C&P? I really don't understand the processes here. After reading through notes that that he has written, mistakes and all, the Q&A's look very similar to what some of you have posted as C&P's. Is that the way it works or will someone else actually at some point do a C&P? I'm lost as ever. I know that I have practically begged for counseling, but so far nothing has happened there. I know Carlie has suggested that I go to the ER..........ain't happening, I can not be institution…

New Sleep Disorder Discovered - Combat Soldiers
The study of a series of patients at Madigan Army Medical Center here, has led doctors to discover a new unique sleep-related condition impacting combat Soldiers called Trauma-associated Sleep Disorder. “Redeployed military personnel have reported for the last 13 years complex nighttime behaviors ranging from sleepwalking, tossing and turning, thrashing, screaming, and even hitting their bed partners,” said Col. (Dr.) Vincent Mysliwiec, principal investigator and lead author, and U.S. Army Medicine sleep medicine specialist. “While these disruptive nocturnal behaviors are frequently reported, they are rarely documented in laboratory settings.” Although previous authors …

ptsd Is There A Downside?
Hi...I expect to submit a claim for PTSD in mid November. I already have an outstanding claim for tennitis and hearing loss (don't expect much there). Will submitting a new claim (PTSD) cause it to slow down the process? I understand it will join up with the tennistis/hearing loss claim and a bit paranoid it will slow everything down. Any thoughts about this? Thanks in advance!

ptsd Disability Denied
My Long Term Disability company denied my claim because my PTSD was a pre-existing condition. I'm 100% service connected VA. The denial states that a reasonable and prudent person would have sought treatment earlier than I did. I am seeing if a lawyer will take my appeal.

ptsd Anxiety, Depression, Paranoid, Unable To Trust, Recovering Alcholic, Can't See The Light At The End Of The Tunnel
I am under a VA psychologist care for PTSD, I put a compensation claim in a couple months back. This forum has been such a god send. I have read the only one that will look after your claim is you. That is why I am here, I might have screwed up on my claim. But I wanted to send in everything and be completely honest. I put three different events for my stressor's one of the stressors I tried to gather the information but was unable. I kept running into a wall every time I thought I might have something for evidence.Sending this claim in I have had to become a private detective a lawyer and a doctor. I am a high school graduate and I never was the sharpest pencil in the c…

ptsd Does It Hurt To Add New Stressor After Year With Therepist
I filed a ptsd claim and it just got filed at the end of october. I thought I started it a year ago when I went to a county VSO but she held off filing for a year. Her reasoning was so we can file a complete claim and I should get all my deck logs and records together first. Well no luck on the deck logs, Navy yard never got back to me after a year and a half. She now say's VA could get them though. One good thing she done was hook me up with a free therapist that the VA pays for. However on to my question. The two stressors might be hard to prove, I have another stressor in my service that happened but should be able to prove easily thru media reports. It was a bus goi…

ptsd Dx With Ptsd
I have recently been diagnosed with severe chronic PTSD by my civilian therapist, a VA therapist and by the Psyc Dr. In a C&P exam. My PTSD was from events of combat. I have no idea if I will be awarded anything. My question is this. While I was sill enlisted, one of my parents was a victim of a violent crime. This made national news including a couple documentaries. Shortly thereafter I requested a voluntary discharged. This family incident has been included in my original mental health notes. It does not have any bearing IMO to my combat PTSD. Do you think this would have any bearing on the raters decision for my claim?
