I've kinda been expecting it! I even explained about the issue of using the "combined ratings table" illegally and enclosed reference to a BVA decision. So I'll be filing my appeal to the CAVC next week. I'm rated 100% + 20% + 10% + 10% + 10% + 10% which should be added together, for the needed 60%. Guess we need the CAVC to clarify the rule. pr

I had applied for IU, which was denied because it was "moot" when I was awarded 100%. However, Bradley vs Peake clearly shows that it is NOT moot, because IU plus 100% clearly qualifes the Veteran for housebound. (SMC S, I think). Is this CUE?

You appear very knowledgable on VA matters, enough so that I'm guessing you're a VA employee sharing your knowledge here. Can you explain how the VA uses the Combined Ratings Table(CRT), once a claimant reaches 100%?? Also with reference to the 100%+60% "s" award?? Do they use the CRT in making that decision, even tho it penalizes the claimant "again" for the same disabilities?? Thank you for your time! pr

I have been reading these topics today. My question is I was granted IU P&T for bipolar, at 70%. I am SC for sleep apnea 50%, dd c spine 20%, and hypothyroidism 10%. I am also SC for 5 other conditions at 0%. I have been IU P&T since November of 2001.

I filed for SMC last April and wasn’t even on my ebenefits until my headaches went in for an increase. No Money rewarded but knowing that I rate at the least SMC L backdated 16 months makes me happy after my OCD research kicked in I have my exam Thursday and every C and P for my TBI cites I need my wife she’s my memory for just about everything, would that be enough evidence? From turning off the stove to using a gps if we are driving together to brushing my teeth at night. I’m done being embarrassed this will help her with everything just wish we would rate T but the requirements is being L...

Has anyone ever seen ED that was service connected, but denied compensation? My wife says I got a letter from the DAV that says compensation for ED was denied. I was granted service connection for ED in March on appeal, effective August of last year, rated 0%. There was no mention of SMC-K at that time in the award letter, so I filed a second claim specifically for SMC-K, with the basis of service connection being already granted for ED. Weird? Why would the DAV send a letter if the decision isn't 'final'? All the other ones ive gotten from them were the same as the Basis letters from the VA, though, so my next question is WTH? The letter (DAV) says:This letter is N…

Recently had my va psychiatrist fill out for 21-2680. For aid and attendance. He stated I required help shopping n preparing meals. Also help with med management. And help from girlfriend to help manage funds. Said I'm housebound 2 days a week. Main issues tbi ptsd, depression, migraines, scalp scarring from gunshot wound to head and alcoholism in remission for 16 months. I also take lorazpam daily. I hope they award it. I really need it. I'm already paid at 100% for tdiu which is permanent n total. I have an actual 90 % rating. Any insight if I'll stand a chance for aid n attendance for tbi.

It has been a long time since I last visited Hadit, and I've missed those individuals that have become friends. But rest assured I have managed to help many vets along the way outside from those that I helped here at Hadit. Now it's my turn to ask for help. I want to clear up the requirements for SMC so that I can understand it, please. I have PTSD rated at 70% and many other ratings that have put me at 100% P&T. In order to qualify for the SMC do I have to have a single rating of 100%, plus the additional combined to 60%. OR, can I have several ratings that total 100%, plus additional ratings that add up to 60%. The guidelines are very confusing so a bit of help to c…
