Here is a tough question I think?!?! First a little Background 80% SC Disabled 70% for PTSD 30% for Migraines due to TBI 10% Tinnitus 10% Right ankle residuals I have in the last 2 months been put out of commission due to my headaches becoming a lot worse. Still trying to figure out treatment for it. We are out of money from me not working Luckily my VA compensation covers our bills so we only need to make enough money to cover groceries, fuel and such. We are going to move to my wives parents place in Idaho the Spokane VARO. We are going to be staying in our 5th wheel on their property so we can at least have a little space. I am continuing treatment t…

I have an ongoing appeal on an "s" award claim, that's in it's 25th year. It's been to the BVA about 4 times, at least twice to the AMC and has been remanded by the CAVC twice. I going to ask for his help. (We were both Airborne, so I'll play that card and we just found out that my ex (who is now by best friend) has a cousin, by marriage, who is a Vice president at Procter & Gamble, so I'm considering throwing that in, in hopes it'll give me some clout.) Let's see what happens??? pr

Right now I am 80% combined service connected. Increases are going in for a list of things and secondary's to begin the 100% battle. IU is also going in. I have been approved for SSDI as of last week so I'm following the guidance I've read here on using the SSDI for the TDIU. So today me and my mom who I live with talked to caregiver supervisor for our area. I filled some paperwork out and then she asked my mom some questions for about 30 minutes or so. She said she would submit our packet next month this gives clinical team time to put everything together. I am optimistic I will be rated in mid tier or low tier but not denied(just my gut feeling). Is the pr…

"Extraschedular entitlement to Special Monthly compensation based on Aid and Attendance criteria being met is granted from August 20,2010. " Is this Aid and attendance or SMC or does it help me with a claim I have in for aid and attendance? I understand by what I have read here but I was told by the call center that I still had a claim for aid and attendance in the works. I have currently in the system a claim for Housing grant to modify my current home and a claim that is in the Pending notification phase. I have called since I got this letter but the aid and attendance is still out there. I am currently also awarded for the S ratting my ability to transfer and g…

I spoke w/the BVA this morning and my claim has been sent back to the AMC . . . again. I should have the BVA's decision, in my mail, within a few days. It is possible they have sent it to the AMC to carry out the BVA's decision??? Guess I'll just wait a few days and see what happens. I'll post when I hear something . . . 24yrs 6 months and counting. pr

I have spent countless hours combing this tremendous source of info but still can't do the math. I am hoping for some feedback in my other post, but absent that, if I assume my evidence will lead to awards for SMC housebound, A&A at the regular rate and SMC K, what would the rate or level be? Would very very much appreciate your weighing it. (I feel I have a shot at A&A at the higher rate, but I know that's a seriously uphill battle, so I'll assume at the regular rate.

This forum has been enormously helpful for educating myself about SMC, but I'm not confident because it's so damned complicated! I've been working on this for a while and I think it's close, but I'd feel better about it if some of you with SMC experience weighed in. If you could pick apart or confirm my logic AND advise if this should be a NOD or Request for Reconsideration (date of letter was NOV 22, 2013, so I'm running out of time), I'd very much appreciate it! Also, I posted a seperate thread on possible loss of use SMC, which I'm not sure if I should pursue and if so, if I should do so in this document). Re: Automatic Special Monthly Compensation (SMC) …

I was wondering if I might get some guidance from you guys out there? I was awarded 100% DOD/100% VA P&T last year, but I was just reading another post on the SMC Topic, and it made me wonder. Where exactly will I find the information about my SMC award on my decision letter? On my award letter it states that I am 100% P&T, plus SMC which I assume it's for my left eye, but I'm not completely sure because I have other disabilities that fall under SMC qualifications. Can anyone please tell me where to look in my Brown Packed to find this information, and the $ amount and % that's being paid to me for SMC? Thanks in advance.

I'm 100% T&P for kidney failure requiring dialysis, and 10% hypertension. I currently perform dialysis at home. This involves 4 dialysis treatments each day. I won't live very long if I don't receive these treatments. Although my wife wasn't officially trained on this method of dialysis, I wouldn't be able to do these treatments by myself. First of all, I'm unable to lift more than 10 pounds. Therefore, my wife has to lift heavy boxes of dialysis solution, and load bags of solution onto my machine. She records my blood pressure and weight prior to and after each treatment. She also helps me prepare and administer my injectable medications. Additionally, …
