Hello all, I'm in a bad way here. My wife of 27 years walked out on me a few months ago, and I am now left left to survive on my meager retirement of $600 a month. I know I will qualify for NSC pension as I was awarded it just a few years ago, and only became ineligible due to taking early retirement in 2012, which put us over the financial limit. My question is, I was just wondering, if anybody has had any experience or knowledge of this, as to know, will I have to have divorce papers in my hand, as proof I no longer have my wifes' income, before I even reapply. There is no doubt a divorce is forthcoming. It's just, at the moment, I don't even know where she is,…

Can a vet get SSD and a NSC VA pension. A non Vietnam vet I know has Parkinson's. He is in bad shape. His wife can't work due to his need for help. He gets nothing from the VA. Somebody at the VA told him to file for SC for AO. He was in Okinawa. He has no direct evidence except his eyes that he had contact with AO. I see this case as hopeless almost. However, being that they are now dirt poor can he get a VA pension while collecting SSD. They are at their wits end. I am going to talk to them around 1pm to try and find out what mess has been created by VA helpers. His POA at the VA discouraged him from asking for A&A. I don't know why. John

if a person is getting A&A and then is incarcerated do they still rate it? If not who do you contact to report this?

My 1st post, so "Hello" to everyone - here goes. I have received my VA Disability Pension with A&A for one yr now, this is my wife's & my only income. She has just now been awarded SSDI. Here's the question(s) - Does her's automatically come out of mine - just my pension OR from both pension plus A&A? When she receives a lump back payment, does my pension stop until all of that is paid for? Can OR should we try and switch her SSDI to SSI (she qualifies for either)? Thanks for any & all imput.

I know some one that is getting a VA pension plus 10% SC and treatment from the VA.(100% disabled) Because he is under 65 and he was looking at the ACA(calif obamacare program.) he wonders what effect it would have if he signed up for MediCal (calif.)also.

Receiving NSC pension as greater benefit. Checked this am on payments. One payment listed for 1/31/2014 and one payment for 2/1/2014, same amount. Obviously a glitch but sure to mess up your balance at the bank. AND they will take it back as soon as problem is discovered. Anyone else?

I am helping friend get NSC pension. I know little about NSC pensions and that system. I do have downloaded claim forms for HB and the actual NSC pension. My friend is Vietnam Era vet who is on SSDI for Parkinson's. He is married and him and his wife are flat broke with just very small SSD pension. Are there any tips for me from those who have experience with NSC pensions? What kind of documentation does he need? He has nothing but an old car and cloths on his back. He can't drive. He wife is his caretaker. John

I am 55 years old and I am rated 100% service connected for a mental disorder which is non PTSD related. I am scheduled to be reviewed in two years. I am to be reviewed because it was stated in my award letter three years ago that I might improve. I am not improving in my opinion and I am still on medication and is unable to work due to my illness. My last Global assessment score has increased to 51 crom a low of 31 partly because i am no longer inder so much stress. Since last year I have been living in Thailand where I see a consulate approved Thai Psychiatrist about every 2 months and this is paid through the FMP program. I think I will try to stay here in Thailand unt…

If a married vet's only income is SSDI can that vet also get the NSC pension from the VA. This friend of a friend is a Vietnam Era vet who did not serve in Nam, but has Parkinson's. He is trying to prove he was exposed to AO but I know that is a long shot. He was on Okinawa. John

My mother was approved for A&A around Oct 2012 at a rate of $988 per month first time filing for it and glad to see the EVR form is no longer required per the letter that came in the mail on Friday. But I have a question on the medical expense report. She is still at home, disabled and we are her care givers and they included that medical expense report in the letter but do we have to fill it out each year and list our care giver monthly amount, her Blue Cross and Prescription insurance payments and all her prescription co pays? Or do only fill it out if there is a change in caregiver amount, private insurnace monthly payments etc? I don't see much of a change on cop…
