Post 911 Gi Bill Benefits Vs Voc Rehab program! Which one is better?
Greetings, I have a dilemma in my hands. I will have an appointment interview with my Voc Rehab counselor in 2 weeks. I currently have 10 months left of Post 911 GI Bill, and desperately need an extension to complete my bachelor's degree. I am also under the work study program, which allows me to work and gain experience. Its an excellent program. Question is, should I jump over to the Chpt 31 Voc Rehab program? Will I receive the same BAH rate? I don't really know what the difference is. Can someone please help me with this issue? Thanks in advance.

Voc Rehab for depression (38 USC Section 1702)
I just applied for voc rehab but am unsure what to expect. I have 20% for chronic foot pain and depression (38 USC Section 1702 active psychosis) that has developed into a pretty serious bipolar 1 disorder with psychotic features . My chief problem is the bipolar, but it isn't rated yet. I haven't been able to work for 3 years now, and prior to that all I could manage were part-time jobs which lasted a few months before my symptoms worsened and I had to quit. Will voc rehab recognize the depression/bipolar during their evaluation, or only the foot since it has a service connected rating? I'm currently appealing my bipolar claim to the DRO, in what ways could voc rehab hur…

Earth to Voc Rehab?
Is it normal for it to be nearly impossible to get in touch with Voc Rehab? I called the 1-800-827-1000 number and they gave me some high level info, but referred me to the Voc Rehab office at my VARO for my more specific questions. I called the number several times, but am stuck on hold for hours.

Question- I'm helping another veteran with their tdiu claim and was asked the following question: Would participating in CWT program interfere with pursuing a TDIU claim? This is the understanding I've gathered from the veteran thus far: The veteran began VA outpatient patient pain clinic (last month) and part of that process is to be evaluated by the VA hospital VR counselor. Also, last month prior to participating in the pain program the veteran also received a letter of infeasibility from a VR counselor in the St. Pete regional office. There seems to be a conflict of interest between VR counselor at the Tampa va hospital and St. Petersburg regional office VR coun…

Is it OK for a VA therapist to be involved with Voc Rehab.
I told my VA therapist about my difficulties at work. The therapist is asking the Voc Rehab coordinator questions for me. My therapist wants to help me do assessment test for Voc Rehab during our next session. I'm a little uncomfortable with this because it seems to be taking away from therapy. I could do the test at home on my own time. Is this a breach of the therapist responsibilities?

VR&E Subsistence
Someone asked me to ask about this situation. A veteran is 100% P&T with several dependents and loses their job. If they are approved for VR&E, do they get subsistence for them and their dependents in addition to the dependency payments they already receive?

ptsd Will the VA try and reduce a veteran's compensation for PTSD if they go to college or difficult training through voc rehab?
I read that Berta said they tried to drop her husband's PTSD rating from 30% to 10% since he took a few classes in college. I've read what happens is a psychologist approves a PTSD vet to go to voc rehab. The voc rehab adviser sends that psychologist report to the VARO and the VARO can reduce the vets rating.

Teaching Credential
I graduate soon and want to teach english overseas in either Japan or S. Korea but my GPA is too low for the requirements of the teaching credential program. Is there a possibility that the VocRehab program would let me retake classes in order to raise my gpa?

tdiu what happens when you sign up for Independent Living.
I recently went to my vocational rehab orientation and when I meet my VRC they told me that I didn't qualify for employment training/schooling. They said I would be recommended for independent living. They sent me home with some homework and I am supposed to research a few things I was interested in. I have approximately 18 months of benefits remaining. Wasn't clear what that meant. Im hoping that Asknod jumps in here and offers insight. Does anyone have knowledge of the independent living program? Does this indeed mean I have been granted Independent living? Are there more steps to take before it is granted or denied? If it has indeed been granted would this have a…

Put on hold two part ?
My question is SSA willing to pay me SSDI if the VA wants to send me to PTRP in Richmond VA for a few weeks to help my healing and memory problems? I am not able to even start for a year since I'm having a baby but he said that fine it's approved whenever. Will this automatically discontinue my Voc rehab since I won't be able to actively participate? Now I've been approved for Permanent and total I'm guessing that's an automatic drop from Vocrehab I was only in the evaluation extended phase anywho been the last 5 months?

ILP/Voc-Rehab
Any body know what the criteria is for I.L.P. /VocRehab for a walk-in bathtub to be installed in my bathroom? I have fell in my shower twice this year because of my Arthritis in my knees my knees give out and I slip and fall, I have grab bars inside the shower walls but when I fall I don't have time to grab the darn things. so I was thinking I need to be setting while bathing...and I can't get up out of the bathtub if taking a bath so I always just took shower. now my right arm is bang up...I did this last year and had to go see the VA PCP Nurse. so its documented that I fall in my shower.
