2 years in Self-Employment Track Nightmare! Don't Try This!
2 years ago applied for Voc Rehab Entrepreneur Track with an idea for an invention. Told by Case manager day 1 "They don't train us for this benefit." No progress after 6 months/Called KY DOL Veterans Affairs for assistance. Assistant director sends me text after 3 weeks of implied help with VR&E tells me "If I give him a percentage of my patent he will get my benefit approved". 1 year mark a Congressional Inquiry uncovers Voc Rehab hasn't started my claim officially. Under the watchful eye of Senator's office Voc Rehab sends my packet to D.C. with recommendations for Cat1 approval without doing so much as an evaluation or assessment. Get's kic…

First voc rehab apt
Hi everyone! Been looking online but havent found my answer so I thought I would post here. I have my first appointment next week and I am currently in college with about two years left. My problem is going to be that I am a physics major and more than likely the only way to be sought after will be to go to grad school. My question is if I am accepted to the Voc Rehab program will they allow me to change my major or will they try to find me a job with my current skills from the air force? I am 20% and honorable discharge 2008. Thanks again for all the info.

Voc Rehab & Smart Phone
Hello everyone, I am using Voc Rehab benefits and was put on a program inside voc rehab called "extended evaluation" this was because I already tried school and dropped out, had a few manual labor jobs, sold cars at a dealership and nothing worked out for me due to my disabilities. I called my case manager today and told her I really needed a new smart phone because the one I had was given to me when I switched to a new phone company and long story short is a shitty phone, I strongly relay on my phone as an alarm clock, calendar and reminder device. My question is: has anyone gotten a smart phone through voc rehab? Thanks, Tiredmarine0331

ptsd VOC ReHab denial and HIPPA Laws
**re-posted from main forum** BLUF: -90% service connected disabled -Currently have a claim in the hopper for new conditions and increases. No SSDI and No I.U. Applied for Chapter 31 Voc Rehab, was denied based on what my Voc Rehab Counselor saw in my medical records. Main question is, are the Voc Rehab Counselors allowed, under HIPPA laws to have access to 100% of my medical records? To be clear, while in the Voc Rehab appointment, my counselor was able to access online all of my medical records and notes from all of my Drs. Also, she had copies of my QTC exam results (which I don't even have), for an ongoing claim whi…

The beginnings of ILP in 1982
Here's a little history on ILP's beginnings so you can better understand how this works-or how it's supposed to work. https://asknod.org/2016/07/27/cavc-ilp-16-2098-this-ilps-for-you/ I hope this helps some of you to get there. Win or Die. Never give up. That's how I prevailed. Five years is nothing in VA time. Remember that.

ILP Begining
Well, Had my first appt. with the counselor David Young at Togus. Asked for a Wood working Shop. Young stated that the VA does not build buildings. This counselor is in the wrong business, he should have been a used car salesman. He is lacking in social skills. He gave me a pile of paperwork to bring home and fill out. David

tdiu IRS saying I owe them $$$
Received a letter today from the IRS and they are stating that since my students loans were discharge/foregiven I now owe them some $$$ because I didn't add the student loans discharge as income to my 2014 taxes. My student loans were discharged because I became too disabled to work and I was awarded TDIU retro back to July 2013. What are my options? Should I go ahead and pay it or is there something like a benefit for disabled veterans so this should not be included as income?

'Tis the Season for an Ex. Writ
Nine months and counting for that elusive greenhouse promised. I'm launching a new Writ Monday morning and then turning off my phone and computer for a week. I like watching them blow coffee through their noses. https://asknod.org/2016/06/11/cavc-graham-v-mcdonald-ii-while-my-guitar-gently-weeps/

24 X 48 ILP Greenhouse
VA sent out their Voc Rehab counselor to present me with the Individualized Independent Living Plan (IILP). They chieu hoi'd and are not going to play keepaway. Seems someone in DC said "We don't want to see this at the CAVC." Full size and full hydroponics. He forbid growing pot in it though as its a federal grant. Two year plan and they pick up the propane and electricity bills during that time. All the hydroponic computer gear, 12 2000W halide lights, raised tables, storage tanks, pumps. Plumbing, wiring and propane gas utilities hooked up. Just add seeds (not included). It only took five years and a trip to the BVA. amen.

ILP Greenhouse parameters
After 10 months of blah blah blah, it's showtime next week (I hope). Here's the email I sent back to my Voc Rehab counselor of five years: To VBASEAT Today at 11:44 AM Kris, In your recent phone call you mentioned you had a brief (working paper)summation of what was being considered on the greenhouse parameters. Before we meet, I would appreciate a copy of it or an IILP you might be considering for my signature so we can accomplish this in one visit. If we are not in substantial agreement on the goals, the actual size and configuration of the greenhouse or what VA considers a "reasonable accommodation", your drive over would be a…
