Berta, when you say you asked SSA to reconsider their decision based on the PTSD award and then they gave a favorable onset date of 1991... were you still in the reconsideration phase, appeal phase, or had the final decsion already been given and you submitted your request after SSA had closed the case? That would be nice to know that the SSA can change their decision after they issue an official decsion based on a good argrument and evidence. And did your attornies submit the motion or did you write to SSA yourself? Thanks

Taking care of Disabled Veterans who were not medically retired from their service, yet sustained injuries severe enough to warrant apermanent and total rating is a small benefit to extend to us. Many of us pine for our days in the Military and traveling to see the wonders of our sacrifices, here and around the world. The aircraft we would be able to fly on give priority to our Nation’s defense and we would only be occupying seats which would have been left empty. It is hard to imagine why this has not been enacted before. Your endorsement and help in passing this legislation would certainly be another accolade you could cite as your support for America’s permanently Disabled Veterans. And it would be nearly cost-free."

I work for the Post Office.I have 70% from VA. I am putting in for a disability retirement based on two of my physical disability ratings. Do I have to wait until OPM separates me from the PO before I can file for 100% IU from the VA or can I put in my IU claim now since I am on LWOP. And since I am on LWOP right now, will putting in a OWCP claim against the PO for non-service related injuries... depression, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, etc. affect whether I can put in for my IU from the VA too or the OPM disability retirement?
