  1. I hope I get this situation between my insurance and me the medical bills since I filed have been over 250,000 my part about 10k.
  2. SC at 0% diagnosed in 91 closed in 94
  3. Time going by and PTSD is getting worse. Last week the Psychiritist suggested I may need to go inpatient for a while.... She put it off for one last chance and upped the venaflexine(sp) to the max dose. If this fails I see no way out of going inpatient again. I did an inpatient program in 91 at Ft Bragg which didn't hlep much. If anyone here has went through this please speak up. I feel like I have a jail sentence facing me with this. This has been a rollercoaster ride for 20 years now but the last 10 months have been pure hell.
  4. It is curious the cholestrol drugs cause this and the VA is quick to put people on them. My cholesrtol was in good shape but triglicerides were a little high so they put me on the cholestral drug. After reading this and looking at research I don't know if I should take that med. I have enough problems as it is. If this could cause liver problems I don't need another problem. Has this fatty liver shown up in alot of Vets????? That would be interesting to know since NASH only occurs in 2 to 5% of the common population.
  5. I need quick advice concerning this issue. I have a claim that started 20 Aug 2010 for iBS which I have suffered with since 91. In Sept 2010 I had 18inches of the colon removed due to diverticulitis and in Jan 2011 gallbladder removed. My questions are the diverticulosis and gall bladder are filed as secondary to IBS. The VA sent me the standard letter today indicating that they needed more evidence on the gallbladder and a waiver form to make the decision within the next 30 days. I am not expecting the decision in the next 30 days really, but should I gather the information now or let them make the decision and file a NOD on the gallbladder. There were 15 issuies I filed for in Aug 2010 and my VSO insisted that the gallbladder claim would be seperate from the original claim but looks like the VA has lumped all into one. I have private insurance that has paid 250,000 for surgeries and specialists since last AUG. And my PTSD has pretty much incapacited me with the other issues I suffer from. The PTSD was diagnosed in 91 at 0% by that VA and I was hospitalized at Ft Bragg for it prior to seperation from AD. Back then I came so disgusted with the VA I just gave up but now im behind the 8ball not being able to work due to these issues. I have been advised by the Psychirist at the VA not to even drive with the meds she has me on. Any comments would be appreciated.

  7. Thanks Hoppy I am a space cadet at times anyway, but the meds they have me on is the Doc's concern. So time will tell how long the effects are going to be , On a brighter note the meds have started to help after 6 months of trial and error upping the dossage on this one lowering this one you know the drill. Since having half my colon removed last Sept the PTSD depression and anxity has kicked my butt. This forum has been a help to guide me thru the VA process thank goodness. I can't imagine how some people withstand all the VA puts them thru. I was hhospitalized before leaving active duty for PTSD and depression back in 91 and had varied degrees of symptoms since then. I was able to make it thru and work until the surgeries of the past few months. Thanks to those who post here it does tend to give me at least some bit of confidence that with time things do get worked out.
  8. Thanks Pete That was my thought when it happened.
  9. Another question I had a appointment with the VA psychirist yesterday. She told me with the meds I am on I do not need to be driving now because of the meds she has me on and she put it in my records. My case is at the black hole called the "RATER" and has been there since like 3-1. Will this new information be a reason for NOD if it comes back from the rater with poor ratings or should there be a request for reconsideration due to new medical information available. Im just trying to cover all bases and stay ahead of there game.l
  10. After a couple days of trying to interpet 38cfr for this I have no clue where this will drop in I have symptoms from 50% 75% and 100%. Im guessing its what kind of day the rater is havinmg when he or she gets to my file.
  11. VA diagnosed severe Depression and Anxiety disorder and PTSD. Are these three rated seperatly or dumped all together for one rating?
  12. Carlie My information was mailed to me through a newsletter for Vets in the Gulf War registry. There are additional articles I found thru a google search. http://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2010/11/17/2010-28707/presumptive-service-connection-for-diseases-associated-with-persian-gulf-war-service-functional This is one of the articles. The info I got may be wrong, but as I recall there were three presumtive conditions for service in the gulf.

  14. Hello everyone I am new to the sight , I have been Reading here for a few months. I feel compelled to reply here due to the topics discussed. I was diagnosed with PTSD )% after Desert Storm. And had a number of other problems as well. One being IBS, I have suffered since 1991 with the issues and until I recieved info that IBS was now presumptive I did not bother with the VA. I filed for sewrvice connection for IBS last Aug. This brings me to the nuts and bolts of my post. Do not allow the IBS to remain untreated as I did. I developed Diverticulosis in 2008, and had many bouts with Diverticulitis until last Sept when I had to have almost two feet of my colon removed. I do not know if this could have been prevented but I did file the condition secondary to IBS. Also in Jan the docs figured out I had a non functioning gall bladder as well and another operation. Now I sit waiting on the VA process for my claim. I am unable to work Due to the IBS and PTSD with severe depression and anxiety. All I can say is do not take IBS lightly it developes into worse conditions as time passes. Continious pain now yearly colonscopy now. 65 pound weight loss after surgery. Not trying to scare anyone just information to not be bullheaded like I was.
