I am seeking an earlier effective date on my PTSD claim. I was granted back to 2016 where i was diagnosed with PTSD but denied... so I reopened claim 2018 and was granted 100 percent going back to my first diagnosis and denial in 2016...denied an early effective date to 2002. Going threw paper work I saw that I was diagnosed originally with PTSD by CNP Doctor in a favorable CNP for my claim for PTSD in 2002 but denied...so I again reopened it ( legacy claim doesn't apply ?) and granted a Video hearing with a Judge I'm 2023 but the Video situation was canceled in Dec of 2023 by my service officer and now It's sitting in docket waiting for a review why would they cancel my Video hearing with Judge? What does it mean? Is something like this favorable for Veteran?

Claim is in process of preparation for notification spoke to peggy they said they are waiting for signature authorization is this good or bad news???? I figure they have to authorize all claims denial or not but the signature hmmmmm????

I am at Pending decision approval claim went in as reconsideration on Dec 11 2017 and as of today JAn 26 2017 its at pending dec approval. Is this a problem i submitted a DBQ and Nexus letter from my VA Doctor my Psych who stated in her Professional opinion my considerable disabilities based on my extended care of him treatment and personnel knowledge of him developed primarily as a result of stress full events during his military experiences and she put her credentials stated she worked with me for several years my diagnosis the incidents etc However there in no CNP ordered why????? If i am denied can i ask for a CNP and reopen or do you think i have submitted enough evidence several ship mates letters and family letters PTSD unit stint detailing everything and several doctors with diagnosis and incidents of my behaviors medications etc opinions???

Is a CNP needed for a claim for PTSD or can they decide with out one? If they decide claim and it is favorable and they don't order CNP would that mean the Max? If they decide claim and don't give me a cnp most likely then it would be a denial right????

I put in a reconsideration of a denial for PTSD on 10/11/2016 I submitted Five Stressor letters with this statement they asked for "The Statement I have made is true to the best of my ability and knowledge " sign there names two shipmates and five family members and friends account of my situation of PTSD due to personal assault. I submitted a strong nexus letter and DBQ stating by a VA doctor that my PTSD comes primarily from my Incident in the military I also Submitted Diagnoses by several VA doctors of PTSD Axis level one I also Submitted PTSD Unit that only takes military related trauma I was in VA facility in Montrose NY I also submitted several incidents of flair ups of my PTSD by VA doctors and social workers and there subscription of medicine nightmare medicine etc I also have a Doctor state that my roomates in VA hospital talked abouthow I talked in my sleep On Jan 6 2016 my claim went to preparation for decision however they never ordered me a CNP I had a previous mental health CNP that was favorable to me they may have referenced any thoughts????/

I I was denied an increase for skin conditions in Nov of 2016 claim was denied I accepted the denial. I submitted on Sept 10 2016 I reopened my claim for PTSD just PTSD and was going through the phases it went to review of evidence and on Jan 6 2016 it was at preparation for decision however now instead of it saying just PTSD it said PTSD and Posttraumatic stress disorder (Reopen), SCARS, BELOW LOWER LIP AND LEFT UPPER LIP (Increase), FOLLICULITIS OF THE FACE/BEARD, BILATERAL CHEEKS, MOUSTACHE, CHIN, FRONT OF NECK, NAPE OF NECK, BILATERALAXILLA, BILATERAL GROINS, UPPER BACK AND SCALP (Increase I ask this would the VA re open and increase decision on there own and why??????

A claim for increased disability in a compensation claim that was previously denied because all service-connected (SC) disabilities were considered noncompensable is a “claim for increase.” I received on Dec 30 2015 eed of 8/2015 I received a non compensable rating of migraines the CNP and the DBQ stated I was prostrate weekly so in 3/20/2016 I filed for an upgrade within the year I also submitted new evidence a DBQ by a VA doctor in my favor as well as pointed at the past evidence in the DBQ done during the CNP of the orig claim, now I was told I Cant file for an upgrade unless a year has passed is that true even though I have new evidence? Also will the VA see that if I cant and change it to an UPgrade ?

I am a Veteran who has been diagnosed with PTSD by my VA Doctors in Montrose NY they implored me to go to the Montrose PTSD unit and I was told that the Montrose VA only takes Veterans who have in service stressors. I filed my claim for PTSD in Aug of 2015 the denied me in Jan 0f 2016 and never sent me a SOC or denial letter and denied me with out a CNP and with out reviewing my PTSD diagnosis of Aug 2015 and my stay at PTSD unit in Oct until Nov 2015 since then I asked for a reconsideration of the PTSD decision after I surmised I was denied and I also submitted new evidence like my diagnosis and the the stay at Montrose PTSD unit and Buddy Letter from a shipmate I did this on 3/20/2016 they closed it with no letters sent no CNP etc no letters in system I was told to put it back in and I did on 4/42016 and it was closed again on 4/26/2016 I then was told to put contention back in I did on 4/30/2016 and this was closed on 5/6/2016 no letter no SOC no CNP no nothing. my case was in NJ regional office I contacted them and the Homeless veterans coordinator then got my caseopened EED of 3/20/2016, then he had my case transferred to NY because I am homeless in NY and then it was closed again, I was recently at a standown where a Homeless veterans person with the regional office in NY who contacted me verified I was a homeless took a state ment , she contacted me and told me that my case was going to a special unit I also have congressional liason who has been supportive and in contact I should be red flagged for homeless and it was a FDC claim as well they have a congressional inquiry where they found an old appeal from 2014 that was never dealt with any ways I need to understand what is going on or if anyone has deal with a similar situation, { How long my appeal since 2014 DRO should that take and also how long should a reconsideration for a homeless vet take this is not a new claim any input please.

I understand how you feel as I have been going through a similar process I contacted my congressman they are doing a congressional inquiry(which is neither here nor ther it depends on who is the congressman liaison and his connections or that offices connections with the regional office and the effort they take) mine has been since 2014 and the lost if found it the appeal and then the claim from 2016 was closed in error several times every thirty days lol . It may take a while but a bureaucracy has a way of correcting its self so thank goodness that you are self advocating every rock that is uncovered leads to the truth and some people may take it personal just keep your records and be patient. This however slow or fast they go does not determine in my opinion if the claims is in my favor or not but at least we are able to move to the next phase if denied and not stagnated or reap the benefits that you so richly deserve study and be prepared for you are you best advocate and the best help I have ever gotten has come from another Vet and Hadit. I have a claim I that was put in 3/20/16 its red flashed for homeless and FDC however it has been closed I looked on E Benefits and saw that is status was no longer open saw no letters being mailed out just close. When I looked further on my page on the left in the my profile section under disability portion of my claim on E benefits where they have my disabilities listed at the very Bottom as Pending Disabilities then it Table of pending disabilities it say a Congressional Inquiry 5/18/2016 New and Folliculitus dated back to 3/20/2014 what does that mean the 2014 case is an appeal is this about to be rated is that why its in Pending Disabliites???
