  1. Had a Wonderful Christmas and thank you for your response. I will stay in contact..Have a Nice New Year.
  2. I was going through my records I picked up from VA hospital the other day and this is what C&P wrote concerning part of my claim... Hypertension...The doctor list past BP checks from May to present...116/84 130/76 143/87 etc. My readings at my exam was 148/100 140/102 and through a old reading from jul 13 which was 138/84 to have a total of 3 readings. She also indicated that my BP was better controlled on new medication but my levels continue to read over 148/105 and recorded at each appt. As stated in previous post, I was denied claims for OSA,chest pains, headaches and memory lost in Jul 13 and posted on EBENNIES, however I just had my C&P exam for Chest pains,OSA secondary to Hypertension. Is this some scam or what...?
  3. Thank you for your advice which I will heed too. If you dont mind, I will like to keep you informed of my out come? Have a Happy Holiday....
  4. "I WILL BE ON LOOK OUT FOR THE FORM FROM VA" Thanks for all reply....Just logged into ebennie today to find out that they have denied my claims on 7/7/13 and they just posted this information. They said that they never received any new information but they signed for 32 pages of new information on 6/23/13 Inside of the packet was medical records from hospital that they never had showing chest pains and headaches. The funny part about this is that I just had my C&P appt on 19 Dec 13 concerning chest pains and headaches. My sleep Apnea C&P was claiming sleep apnea as a secondary to hypertension. The Dr. bluntly said no but said OSA can cause hypertension. No other questions or test as listed in my claim of OSA. All the evidence is there. DAV is suppose to be my rep but it's time to FIRE THEM. They haven't sent me anything. They haven't addressed my hypertension,Erectile dysfunction, Asthma and PTSD is pending. Do I need to wait until everything is done to file an appeal to go to DC?
  5. Thank you all for your reply! My current ratings are as follows...30% Asthma 10% Tinnitus and receive SMC for erectile dysfunction. Hypertension 0%, My 1st C & P was Oct 13 was for my BP. The readings that were taking and recorded was 153/110 143/102 and 155/107. The doctor didn't like the readings but recorded them as such. She also questions me on my erectile dysfunction that was claimed as a secondary to the primary of BP meds. I have been fighting my BP since 2002 with VA. the Dr. indicated that both should go through with no problems. When I 1st claimed the sexual dysfunction in Apr 2012, it was like no questions and they assigned me this SMC. I also claimed (1) Obstructive Sleep Apnea (2) OSA as a secondary to hypertension. The Dr. said that she couldn't agree with that but should have been written as Hypertension secondary to OSA she would agree. She went through all the evidence VA had on file with me and made me a list to take with me. Today, C&P Dr talk about my asthma and ordered a pulmonary function test in the next few days I think. She took my BP once and it was 153/107 and went through my meds to have my primary increase it. She the ask of my chest pains which I couldnt understand because my brown package already denied chest pains. (ANY THOUGHT) My PTSD is next week, test and eval. Ive been talking to psychiatric for 1.5 years now and ordered meds on my second visit. the cause of this was a tank over turned while raining when I was driving. I know this will be along shot...........Prostate cancer questionnaire filled out by my primary and sent to Nashville and scheduled for surgery in a few months. Prostate is also claimed on file. I think they may try to deny my OSA but think they will award Hypertension. For my OSA, I had statement from 3 service members which one being a hospital nurse, my current wife, ex girlfriend and daughter to my 1st wife. I had a sleep study done which i was told that my numbers were of the chart. My 1st CPAP was issued in 02 at VA in VA. All Lay evidence seemed to be very strong. What about using past appeals that were granted as evidence in my behalf if my case seems stronger? VA seems not to address this sleep apnea but to take short cuts not to approve this at all cost. VA included a form to send back with a statement of support and if I have any evidence. The statement has to be within 2 months of the incident. The DAV is SUPPOSE to be my POA but I think this issue maybe going to DC, so I guess it's time ti fire them and take a different approach. ANY FEED BACK WELCOME!!!! Sorry so long
  6. I received my brown package the other day and it seems that VA is requesting dates and events that lead up to my PTSD in service. I have to appoints (C&P) next week PTSD that says TEST and Eval. Today i'm going to one that says medicine...The packet simply denied one of my claims out of 7 which one being PTSD. On my OSA I had several Lay statements from fellow soldiers with one being a medic that work in the hospital. Then I other claims that was less stronger than mines that I highlighted strong points that I had. On my High blood pressure they sent me for C&P and blood pressure was 153/112, 143/107 and 163/112. Loss use of limb by taking high BP meds and taking the purple pill. At 1st they had it as a special Compensation and not part of rating...Dr ask a few questions and I think it went through. Confused why they didnt address the full claim? Thanks for any reply
  7. Just typing in a few things and came across this forum I currently have Hypertension 0%, Tinnitus 10% asthma 30% and just filed again for OSA (Sleep Apnea) and also secondary to my asthma and hypertension.Reopen depression, chest pains and new prostate cancer. Been waiting 30 days thinking about SSDI
  8. Thanks for your reply! the 79 represents the scale base of my sleep apnea. The Dr. stated that it's based on a scale from 5 to 30 with 5 being normal and 30 severe, I was rated 79. I will keep you updated on all information received. Thank you again..
  9. A few days ago I sent in forms, letters and new evidence asking for my denied claims to be open and reconsidered based on new evidence I sent. I'm not feeling to good about my claim after my readings on this site of of what I should have stated and a nexus. I do have a POA which is DAV and they have been NO HELP since moving to TN in 09. My appeal process timeline may expire before a decision is made by VA in TN. Can I or do I file my appeal while they are making a determination of the reconsideration? (Case timeline ends 6/23/13). If I can appeal there decision, can I also provide more new evidence I've found at that time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. There's diffidently an unexplained event between OSA and Hypertension from my reading. I was told but not in writing yet that over a serious long period of time OSA start to shut down organs and a higher chance for any type of cancer. I'm truthfully unemployable because of the guide lines set by DOT on OSA and Asthma. I thought the link on number 3 would be my Hypertension and Asthma which by my pulmonary has increased every year but not bad enough for the next level 60%. Now deal with this Prostate Cancer and diffently unsure of letting the VA cut on me.... Thanks for the reply
  11. I'm new to the site and just read ur posting and you got me thinking. I just submitted to reopen a claim for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (secondary to hypertension 0%)Asthma(increase from 30%)Obstructive Sleep Apnea (secondary to headaches, chest pains, and depression) and a new claim for prostate cancer. I collected letters from 3 guys I was stationed with stating they heard me snoring, had to wake me and gaging very bad when I slept, I think the statements were pretty strong statements concerning symptoms of sleep apnea, a letter from my wife of 12 years and a old girlfriend while stationed in KY who I dated while in the military and after service.I Also had sleep study done last month that was rated severe (5 normal 30 severe) I was rated 79, stop breathing 114 times with the longest period of not breathing 47 seconds. One of the Recommendations was not to operate heavy or commercial equipment. I sent in regulations from Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (Dept of Trans) showing them because of the OSA and asthma I cant legally operate a semi truck, which I owned and operated as self employed under my own company. (Unemployable) I applied for OSA back in 02, 04 and again in 12. I failed to mention I'm also a (K) sexual dysfunction. I've been driving semi (OTR) since 1995 and seems life is coming to a halt..... What's ur best guess?

  13. I just submitted to reopen my claim for OSA with evidence from the sleep clinic of how severe my readings are and 3 letters from guys I severed with and actual went to the field with with them. I contacted my old girlfriend and she emailed me a letter to state the facts as well, with a letter from my current wife. I read a few claims from the appeal process and the judge made a statement" With the letters of support stating the snoring and gasping for air, they are not MEDICAL EXPERTS". On the other hand, one appeal, the soldier had his wife write a statement and she said he had sleep apnea before he enlisted but it's now worse than ever. GRANTED 50%
