  1. Thank you all for your responses. Do any of you think I should be doing something to help this along, or should I wait and see what happens. I just submitted the original claim in April so there is still time to file a NOD, which I had started preparing anyway because I forgot to include how the meds I take due to PTSD and help me sleep, have caused the sleep apnea to be a problem. Thank you all again....Jeremy.
  2. I have 30% for PTSD and submitted a claim for Sleep Apnea Secondary to it. The claim was denied in June. I submitted a claim for bilateral knee pain on June 24. While I was checking the Ebenifits site to see how the C&P went, I noticed that the Sleep Apnea claim was reopened. I did not submit an appeal yet....Have any of you experienced them reopening your claim on their own? Here is what I found on Ebenifits.. Status of Your Claim Gathering of Evidence Submitted: 06/25/2016 (Compensation) Estimated Completion: 11/23/2016 - 02/03/2017 Estimated Completion Info Tooltip with additional information The time it takes to complete you claim depends on factors like the type of claim and the type of disability claimed. The estimated dates are based on a statistical analysis of historical processing times for similar claims. Some things you should know: Historical data may not accurately predict current conditions. Your claim may take longer. Dates may change as the statistical analysis is updated. Some claims will take longer than the range of dates given as they are based on an average. Submitting the supporting documentation that has been requested quickly and electronically is the surest way to get your claim decided as quickly as possible. 3. Well since my C&P my ebenifits has been sitting on "Prep for Decision".... It has only been a month. The dates showing the estimation date to be completed is August 20 to September 20, 2015, so the hopefully the decision will come through soon. Have not heard anymore from Senators since this all began. My Dr. has just started me on two more meds for my issues and I hope they help.
  4. Well, to update what all has happened since this travesty that began in June. I had decided that I would contact my Senators, which happen to be Senator Mccaskill and Senator Blunt, who have been working together on asking the hard questions of Secretary McDonald. I was contacted by Senator Blunts office by phone a couple of times. Senator McCaskill office has never reached out to me, but it may be because they working together on veteran issues. I was able to voice my concerns that veterans are not being notified of C&P exams and that this causes veterans to lose benifits owed them as in back pay to the original date of claim submission. I hope something can be done, and only time will tell. So, yesterday I haad that C&P exam. I was there for two hours. I first took six multi choice questionairres on a computer then sat down with a Dr. The doctor that I was scheduled to see had called in sick....but I was lucky enough to be seen by another. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Now to just wait and see. Jeremy
  5. On a side note: I also received several emails from all those people who helped sort this out. I forwarded them to my VRO so that he knows what has transpired for when I do get to his office.
  6. UPDATE! I did email the Under Secretary Ms. Hickey, who's secretary contacted the head of the St. Louis VBA. That person had thier secretary call me. That person gave me two numbers to call in case I have not been notified by next Wednesday. In the mean time, An awesome idividual from the Leavenworth VA Hospital called me and gave me guidence as to what steps to take, file a NOD and what to put on it. After hanging up with them, the person I was told would contact me by next Wednesday called me. Now here is where I was shocked, they gave me a new date for a C&P of July 9, 2015! This was due to the fact they did not notify me! I had proof that I had been on MyHealthyVet on the night of May 31, 2015 which lent creadence to not being notified in a timely manner. I again was contacted by the same man that had called from Leavenworth, I updated him as to the fact that I now had a new appointment for the C&P. He too was shocked, and said he was going to fill out and send forward something and use what I had put in my email to the Under Secretary because he had shown it to his boss and they felt that something should be done about my not being notified. WHOOOO, what a day! Thank you all for your feedback, especially Berta! Thank you so much! Never give up! Keep driving ahead! Jeremy
  7. I have always received notices in the mail for all of my appoinments there, so I am unsure how the only one that is this important would not reach me. I have lived at the same address since I began this with the VA. I feel like I am about to explode from the inside out!
  8. I just received a decision that I have been denied benifits because I missed the C&P exam that I did not know I was scheduled for. I last checked my appointments calander May 31, 2015 and there was no appointment listed. I looked today after I received the denial and it is listed for June 9, 2015! I had no idea about this appointment, now what do I do? Any help is appriciated, as I have been waiting well over a year to get this appointment and exam. Thank you in advance, Jeremy.
