There are a good amount of options out there if you need an IMO. Some claim's do not need an IMO. If you have been seen by your own provider for years, that would be the route to go for sure.

I highly recommend seeing Dr. Jaclyn H. Polsky if you need an independent medical option to go with your mental health claim. I saw her work and is very detailed and she has a ton of experience working with the VA. https://www.soflapsych.com/ I don't recommend someone unless I believe the work they produce is top of the line and Dr. Polsky does produce top of the line reports.

I would say lets start here, what conditions are you looking to service connected and how (direct secondary etc). If you give us more info we may be able to point you in the right direction.

Does the pain your back cause mental anguish? If it does you could be looking at a secondary claim (if your not already service connected for mental health).

Since this is in your records, I would go forward with a claims package that includes a detailed personal statement, buddy letters, and I would include some medical journals off https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ that related to your case.

Team, Direct VA upload is now open to the Veteran, where in the past this was just for the VSO's or lawyers. This is a good thing! This means that most likely they are going to do another C&P exam to get another option or they will rate on what they have have on file. Typically I've seen these go in favor of the Veteran.

I see nothing but good coming out this for the Veteran. How can a C&P examiner that works for the VA remain impartial if they work for the VA? That in itself has inherent ethical issues.

I would agree! Supplemental claims in my experience are going just as fast as a FDC right now!

I'm torn on this one to be honest. Con: Really hard to get your results in a timely manner compared with a VA C&P exam that is uploaded to myhealthyvet Pro: I feel like VA C&P examiners are jaded by the process because they have been doing it for years and that's all they do. Plus it seems like at times they're "Protecting" the VA's money. A contracted doctor is just on a contract to do a job and bail, they have no vested interest.

How does everyone track the changes that are made to 38 CFR Book C, Schedule for Rating Disabilities and M21-1? Just Wondering.

My believe is that there is an underestimation of what this can do to future claims. This is really setting up a lot of claims to fail (if this goes through).

Ya, I think there might be some confusion on the two different pillars of the VA (VHA + VBA). The Veterans health administration just wants to treat you, they are like your primary care doctors. The VBA Veteran benefits administration has to do with benefits like disability , GI Bill ect. To be honest they don't talk really well.

My option, You will need an IMO to fight this. Once you have that and a personal statement (outlining where the rating decision was not correct) file a supplemental claim. Should side in your favor at that point.

Now you got to fight! You got to build a good supplemental claims package. What should this include? 1. Solid Independent medical option Nexus 2. Lay evidence- great personal statement/Buddy letters. 3. Medical journals -- https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ 4. BVA court cases similar to yours. Combine that into a package and submit a supplemental appeal. Just my option on what I would do.
