HawaiiJ, Can I ask how you were able to achieve the initial rating for Psoriasis? Were you originally diagnosed in service? I ask because I started out with issues after my deployment for OIF, they inaccurately diagnosed as ezcema first. After I got out, it was diagnosed as Psoriasis almost 5 yrs later. I am putting together my case for Psoriasis, but I want to try to make it as airtight as I can. I am also on Enbrel 2/wk. And will be using the Patient Advocate to try and get the VA to pay for Stelara. They refused because I did not try Humera. I am hesitant to try Humeria because of the most recent illness that was really bad. I had flu/strep/bronchitis at the same time and it laid me up for 2 wks. I have kids so I am more susceptible to illness because they bring it home. Stelara would prevent that. Any help or advice you could provide would be amazing. Thanks.

You will have to submit an appeal for the effective date. Gather the evidence on the effective date to include everything in Ebenefits and any original paperwork. The VA sometimes uses FL-13-10 (I think) to close out old claims and reopen them with a later effective date. They did this to mine and I won that particular appeal. I'm just waiting on the appeal on the percentage for my PTSD claim that is at the BVA waiting a place on the docket. My original claim was a 2011 claim. They tried to set a 2015 effective date, I was not having it.
