  1. Yes I understand Mr. Flores. I fully understand the financial restrictions of most of us Veterans. I was there at one time. However, believe it or not this thread is the most important thread in all of this Discussion Board because an IMO is the Gold Standard to getting an Appeal Approved. A lot of Veterans want to get into a campaign speech knock out drag out my day in court back and forth with the V.A. and fail to realize their subjectivity does very little to win a case. At the appeal level it is simply a matter of Law and Facts which give a Nexus to your current disability. So paying a little money to get an IMO just about guarantees a favorable decision if you get a favorable IMO.
  2. Remember you get what you pay for. In seeking an IME it would suit you better if you got an opinion from a Specialist that is an Expert on your condition i.e. Heart = Cardiologist, Feet = Podiatrist and so on. Furthermore why would you need an exam for a current condition and current meaning "At the time of you filing your claim" and NOT during an office visit? In that case all you should have to do is get a copy of your Medical Records and send it to the Doctor for him to review, assess and formulate a well written IME. Some of you may ask why NOT get a current exam and the answer is suppose you go to OKC and your condition has improved? I don't know anything about this Dr. Ellis, but the V.A. isn't stupid and sooner or later a Veteran who does not have a track record of seeing a Dr. for a condition will try and use a thinly pieced together IME via a single office visit in OKC and the house of cards will fall. Good Luck and Semper Fi.
  3. I received an advance on the docket on April 16th because I am on Dialysis via the progression of my Kidney Disease. I submitted the Gold Standard with my request which is an "Independent Medical Opinion" that not only supports my appeal but described my complications related to dialysis. You will find a lot of people saying you can't get an advance, but it is worth a try I say. I believe by the end of the year I will have an answer, most likely sooner. Note....If you submit ANY new evidence you BETTER submit a waiver of review by the Regional Office or by law they will send it back.
