  1. H ave a claim in for IHD under agent orange. Had a attack this last weekend. Had a angiogram and it said I only had a 55%blockage and they will not put stints in until blockage is at least 70%, So is there a a number that has to be reached for letter to be included in my claim. Also what does anybody think of the fast track claim system
  2. Thanks for the reply. The VA has not notified me on what they have accepted or rejected as my as far as my travel vouchers go. The last I heard they have received one set of private medical records (190 pages) which contained my A-Fib problem and my addmentice for the heart attack. The other set of records, from a different hospital contained medical records pertaining to the pace maker. These records were sent two weeks age to date. Have not heard if they had posted them to my C-File. The first set of records also contained the follow up hospital stay for the next three months. I thought the same thing about the letter from the VA. But since the medical records are included in my C-File, hopefully that problem has been solved. I started the process thru my VSO the end of January I did not have stints or grafts on my heart. The only thing that is in my records that makes my claim is AO presumptive my condition was stated as ischemic as I had complete blockage also, chronic diastolic, coronary artery disease. The name might note say ischemic but these are all the same. I guess I am glad I was not admitted to a VA care facility. My cardiac arrests left no doubt what was going on arrived at the ER with a zero pulse and a blood pressure of 20. The gave my a 5% chance to survive the aircraft ride to the next hospital but here I am with my big problem of walking When I asked about viewing my C-File, I was told I had to file a Freedom of Information which could take any from 6-12 months to get. Will just keep on plugging away,
  3. Just a quick question. Can anybody tell the procedures for filing an appeal. Just the part about meeting with the VA and my rep. I live in northern MN, have a VA hospital in Minneapolis 140m away and it looks like the Doc that is making the decision is in Texas working for VES. So how does this happen Thanks
  4. Hey, thanks for all the help and info. I looked at the VES appointment for the family doctor that they sent me to. No where does is mention that this was a C&P appointment. Today they now want me to go and get a EKG. This has something to do with my A-Fib that happened just prior to my Cardiac Arrests. Do not understand what this has to do with my claim as A-Fib is not mentioned. Just by what has been in the info everybody has submitted, You have dashed my hopes. Oh well, that is life A little help please. on the E-Ben site and not figure out how to start the claim.
  5. Maybe my posts are not getting thru. I think I answered Nam Boots on the Ground YES. Only claim that at I have at this time is ONE, Ischemic Heart Disease. Like I said, my VSO is the one who determined just file for one item at a time based on the rating that I receive. Ok on to the PN. I did some research and you my be right. Have to be a attorney to understand it all. My idea was that somehow my IHD and subsequent cardiac arrests triggered my PN ( Might want to check AO presumptive list or make it more detailed or refer to VA AO List). My travel vouchers indicated a stay at TanSaKnut, Bien Hua, Danage (sp) during the time required. I am going to pursue every possible option that I have. Like getting those $2.00 checks from VES Load Clear
  6. Made copies of everything I get. Well after my C&P I thought that things would be going smoothly not so. Today I was surprised to find a VES mailing at my house. They now want me to get another test done for my Heart Claim. I did not know that VES was the final say as to your claim. What happened to working with VA. This test was ordered by a doctor working for VES. Yes I have civilian records showing the heart problems and also my Acute Peripheral Neuropathy. My Vso submitted a claim for the heart only. He thought that this claim would go thru with no problem. Proof of Boots on the Ground, and medical records mentioning Ischemic Heart Disease. The VSO thought I should wait and see what type of compensation I would be getting. IF percent is wrong and we appeal. then we would file for the APN. I just hope that is the right way to go. Myself, I would like to get something on paper with the VA at least mentioning the possible new claim Know nothing about a hardship Good luck AOW, and will keep you updated on my status g
  7. One other thing the doctor I saw is into alternative medicine (acupuncture), and so forth. I have proof that I had boots on the ground by using two separate travel vouchers. The doctor I saw, told me as I was going out the door, make sure you file for your legs and file for the stints they had to put in to get blood flow to the legs. Not sure if my flap surgery is covered developed a wound on my butt that required removal of most of my gluteus maximus while in the hospital. Also had TERP surgery.
  8. Here is my understanding of whats going on. VES was doing all the scheduling. I went for my ECHO exam last month at a hospital 20 miles from my house. I then received a VES appointment with a doctor They had some of my results from the ECHO. Not sure what a c & P exam is. What this doc did was to ask about my condition and how I felt. This was also a non VA visit This all started with 8 cardiac arrest arrived at the hospital with zero pulse and 20 blood pressure. things went down hill from there. Here is a small list of some of problems Complete heart block (HCC), Coronary artery disease, artery thrombosis, ischemic spinal cord injury, peripheral neuropathy of my legs, resulting in me having to wear braces and use of walking sticks because I developed foot drop with numbness in my feet The list above is just a short list have still have many more problems that I never had before. As for not filing before, I could not prove boots on the ground and I did not realize that so many problems were covered. I have been healthy until this started. Now for the letter, We submitted a form that gave the VA access to all my health records in the private sector. I received a letter from the VA stating that I needed to send in the form again. Have never used the VA for any condition that AO covers. It is all at non VA hospitals. Like I said before, I wold not even know where to begin with copying records and I have almost a stack 10 inches high of records The doctor told me she would send in her finding and I would here from the Va on my percentage You all brought up some good points, but what do you think of the statement we could decide your case in 15 days if we do not hear from you.. They also said they requested records from my non VA hospitals which I am sure is going to take longer that 15 days. Thanks for the help. This one of the best sites that I have found dealing with the VA
  9. Filed an AO claim one month ago. Went to all appointments, waiting for rating letter. My VSO only applied for a heart condition. After reading some of posts here, I could also file for my legs which were affected by my cardiac arrests along with some other problems I see mentioned here, Well yesterday I received a letter from the VA telling me that they have requested copies of my medical records for my claim. I also requested records which I received after a two month wait. The letter also encouraged to send my records. It went on to tell me my claim could be decided within 15 days if they do not hear from me. I have no problem with me sending the records but the records are 10 inch high which would make the task almost impossible to do. My VSO told me not to worry about this letter. Should I have filed everything together or separately? Called the the Private Medical Records Retrieval center and got pretty much what the letter said, so not much help there. What should my next step.
