  1. Just a update I took the advise from Hadit members (Thanks) and filed a NOD and one year later received my decision today stating We assigned a permanent 100% disability for your service connected disability effective July 1996 ! Thanks for the advise!!
  2. Hi Buck , I have actually found a letter that states "This is to certify that the records of the above named honorably discharged veteran show that he is permanently and totally -disabled due to service connected disabilities" Is there any form that you know of that needs to accompany my copy of awards letters? And what department do you think handles this??
  3. I was single when I got my award and I still am single, maybe that has something to do with it?? But, no, I did not get any thing in my award regarding DEA again, I have previous award letters that state I do have P/T so how do you have P/T for years and then I don't? Thanks
  4. Thanks Buck, Looked at my original award letter and it does not have P/T , but I do remember when I did receive my letter I questioned the P/T and back then everyone told me that no future exams was P/T !! My claim was for a brain injury that will never improve. Plus I have old award letters that have P/T checked off on letter that says I am P/T!! And suddenly I noticed they were no longer checking that box, that is when I inquired about my status and was told yes you did have it and when they were changing computer software many veterans that were getting P/T got bumped off!!
  5. because the VA and the DAV are now saying I was never awarded P/T !! so I am not entitled to P/T benefits!!
  6. I have received TDIU for over twenty years for Brain syndrome what they now call TBI . For first ten years all award letters included P/T checked off in letters. Then started noticing P/T was not checked , went to DAV to get it checked out they said it was a computer glitch with some TDIU folks said they would get that fixed for me. Went to DAV today five years later, still not fixed , was informed I would need a physician's letter to verify I am in fact P/T. Told him the Va docs I have seen over the years are retired. They would be the only ones to verify my Brain syndrome(TBI) for all this time . Any suggestions from some of the members how to proceed? Went back with DAV to original award letter ending, " with no future exams" they had many years of award letters with P/T checked in their system ! I also Have a commissary card for 15 years!!!! They said it did not matter, need letter from doctor??? I know you guys no more then me!
  7. No, I am single and at the time did not have a wife or kids, I did get a letter in 2000 for commissary card and in that letter it said no future exams! I appealed my first decision from 1998 and was granted effective date was 1996. post traumatic encephalopathy which they now call TBI, I believe. I cannot open a e-benefits account for what ever reason? I am not retired from service. No, I am not qualified to receive disabled plates in the state I am in, Mass. I am not familiar with a CUE claim, would be happy to learn about it, could be getting married in the next year and would like to know if I am eligible? My most recent letter (Feb. 2013) from them states "Are you considered to be totally and permanently disabled due to your service -connected disabilities: No Are you entitled to a higher level of disability due to being unemployable : yes Do you need to be retired to get a e-benefits card? Thanks for your reply's !!!
  8. I have received TDIU for the last 17 years with no future exams scheduled, but did not approve or deny for Chapter 35. also SSDI for 18 years. When I speak to VA they say I am not P/T How should I go forward if I want to now claim P/T? I have TBI =70% Tinnitus= 10% Thanks
