  1. I applied for under agent orange my diabetes II for my service connection from Viet Nam service in the first part of August. I am taking metformin 500mg twice a day, and told to diet and exercise. Today Sept 27 I received a phone call from the VA making an appointment for next Tuesday Oct 2 2012 for C&P for my claim. I don't know what to make of this because I thought I would have to go threw a big process to get this done. In my claim I didn't ask for SMC at this time will they award this without asking? I asked the person who called if I needed blood work and she said no just bring my medicines I take. Today I went to that C&P and the guy told me this was a simple matter, VA only wanted to make sure I had Diabetes II, He ask if I had any medical information other than the VA and I said no. I also got a package from the regional office with forms I signed at the DVA for no more evidence decide my claim. I am completely at a loss about this, could someone help me to understand what I should expect. I am 100%PTSD 40%hearing 10% tinnitus plus the diabetes rating, will I qualify? Many thanks

  5. I am a vet 100% PTSD and 50 % hearing loss sec, My question is that my dr wants me to use an alpha stim stimulor instead of taking the meds that I cann,t tolerate, But her boss won,t approve this but it is VA approved and is being used with great sucess for deppression, Pain, aneixty and insomia. This to me seem like a win for vets other than the meds. Does anyone know about this thanks
  6. I gave up my coast guard license in 2006 because of my disability and haven't worked since, been going to group and taking meds for PTSD. But I feel I am losing my health, because no one in my family has had diabets, and I know my health is changing. I never messed with the va for forty years, but now I need them. Ptsd has always inpacted my life and it just won,t go away I live with it everyday. I am just afraid to open a new claim, for fear they will reduce what they have given me I don't trust them or the gov. tell me you thought thanks
  7. I will try to give you more infomation, excuse my typing it is hard for me. I have hearing aids and they say my hearing loss is profound. MY doctor says my fasting glucose was 130, I am over weight, and suffer fom major depression. I asked a dva service officer and he said that opening the possibility of smc could cause the va to lower my ratings and I could loose my 100% benifits. He said I am better of not opening any new claims and keep what they have given me. I realy feel being expose to agent orange is starting to have systoms for me, and I am having concerns for my life and for my wife and what would happen to her if I was gone. thanks for your help
