  1. Buck 52, what is SMC S? Thank You for the clarification I think thats how they explained it to me.
  2. Buck52, I verified this with my VA Representative. He said that is correct because they rounded it up to 95% My ratings are as follows: 50%-60%-10%-10%-10%-10%-10%-10%-10%-10%-!0%-10%-0%. This is what my letter said You are considered to be totally and permanently disabled due solely to your service-connected disabilities: The effective date of when you became totally and permanently disabled due to your service-connected disabilities:
  3. Hello, I was wondering if someone can explain this, I was awarded 100% disability but when I use the VA calculator it only adds up to 93%?
  4. Hello, I have Psoriasis and have a 60% disability rating for this. I recently filed a secondary claim for Psoriatic Arthritis. The problem is I am not always in lot of pain because I am taking Enbrel. I notice when I run out of the drug my joints hurt so bad that I can't hardly walk, but as long as I am taking Enbrel, I still feel the pain but it is tolerable. My question is Enbrel is a drug that controls Psoriatic Arthritis. Will the C&P examiner take this into consideration? Also, I heard x-rays doesn't always show that someone has this type of arthritis. Has anybody experienced this situation?
  5. I have recently been awarded 10% for psoriasis that I developed in the military back in 1988. I am currently on Enbrel and have been taken it for six years. I sent the VA a copy of my records from my private doctor showing when I was placed on this medication and am currently taken Enbrel. I appealed their decision of 10% based on their C.F.R. Title 38, part 4 section 7816 which states a constant or near constant systemic therapy such as immunosuppresssive drugs required during the past 12 month period should have a rating of 60%. Now they sent a letter stating they need more evidence showing that the service connected psoriasis has increased in severity. My medical records shows how they treated me for the psoriasis in 1988 and my current doctors treatment as of today. What other evidence would they need and where in the C.F.R which I quoted above does it mention it has to be an increase in severity? Has anybody else had this problem?
  6. I currently was given a rating of 10% for psoriasis by the VA. There C.F.R. Title 38, part 4, section 7816, states a constant or near constant systematic therapy such as corticosteroids or other immunosuppressive drugs required during the past 12 month period should have a rating of 60%. They reviewed my military medical file that showed I was treated for psoriasis while in the military. I also explained that I have been taken Enbrel for the past 6 years. They still awarded me 10%. I sent in an appeal letter with my private physicians medical record proving that I am currently on Enbrel and a copy of their C.F.R. I just received a letter stating they need additional evidence like: -evidence showing that your service connected psoriasis has increased in severity. -treatment records related to your claimed conditions include reports or statements from doctors, hospitals, laboratories which dates of treatment, findings, diagnoses should be included. I have two questions. First, where does it say in the C.F.R. that the condition has to be increased in severity? They have my military records which shows there treatment in 1988 and I sent in the documents stating that I have been on Enbrel for the past six years. Wouldn't this show an increase in severity? Secondly, how can the VA give a rating based on the amount of area on the body that is affected by psoriasis if you are taken medication at the time you are seen by CFR examiner and your medication keeps your flare ups under control? Please any insight about this would be appreciated. Thanks.
