  1. Thanks for any help in advance! Am diligently working my PTSD and I need advice. When I was stationed in Germany, there were two auto accidents that truly affected me; however I dont recall enough of the details of one, name.date. and I dont recall the last name of the other person but have a date(time period) for that one. Are there any databases for USAFE or USAEUR that will list the names or dates of POV accidents?
  2. Thanks Jim, yes I have service documentation; police reports; medical records and some copies of my personell military correspondence for humanitarian reassignement; however I do not have a complete Service Personnel Files. As a previous widow, I believe I may need a copy of my deceased husbands file as well. thanks for the heads up. Now I need to double check on the PTSD diagnosis, i have been going to the VA for counseling, my husband does understand that I should attend a private doctor to verify the same. Although nearly exhausted from rehashing the stuff, I am encouraged by the support here. Now I will give you a smile. As part of my out processing, my regular retirement "physical examination" was accomplished while I was very roundly pregnant! I always think thats a hoot myself! Again, thanks and like Columbo..... one more question? Is it okay if I apply for PTSD now and more medical connections seperately (back getting worse, cardio concerns) ; or do I need to learn how to add those into PTSD for complete attention? Thanks again, I am going to make it through this with continued inspiration from all the vets here!
  3. I am not sure what an IME or DPO is? Got most of the other acronyms tho; thanks again hr
  4. thanks; am appplying for PTSD now, other disablity health service connections in a few weeks. just double checking; hr
  5. den, I am under a pysch's care already at the VA, is that sufficient? I do have other health insurance and can get a second opinion. I am planning on putting in my paperwork in the next few days. If I see another health care provider afterwards, maybe then I can have them submit a report then (say a few weeks after my stressor letter goes in?) thanks for your response.hr You are going to need a diagnoses of ptsd from a shrink or physcologist for your claim to move forward. den
  6. Thanks again "testvet", I have written down the information, am adding details and will align attachements to the events so that the VA can decipher it all. I look forward to being a proactive person again, after setting aside my family to tend to these awful details. My husband and kiddos will appreciate me when I begin to recoup the "connections" to these past traumatic events in my life. My joy is to refocus on al the good I did in my career and maintain a determined distance from the bad stuff. By the way, does the VA need to hear about letters of appreciation or is it just medals? SHould I add a positive impression up front about being a professional military member?or just summarize and get to the point of my application for stressors? Thanks again
  7. I am deep into packaging up my PTSD stressor letter and package. TO my amazement, I just found a page from my medical records page from my active duty years ago, (incident was over 20 years ago) that clearly states 'patient has PTSD" and other pages refer to the support I recieved for the "incident". Question:? Is it possible that VA can connect PTSD back to the date? or maybe the date I started recieving treatment for same at the VA medical offices several years ago? Just curious. Thanks Trust me, I will definitely ear mark that page big time!
  8. Its Feb 8 and I am working hard on my stressor package and want to submit it before the sixty day window is up. My question; When does the sixty day window start? I returned the letter response (certifed) to the post office Jan 8 telling the VA that in fact I did have more information to submit and I wanted them to wait before deciding my case. Does the VA sixty days before they make a decision on a case include weekdays, weekends or every calendar day? Thanks so much, pretty stressed here trying to get the package together, but I truly beleive I will make it. Prayers are appreciated meanwhile! Thanks for any resonses in advance!
