Dumb Question

Question

E benefits states "pending decision approval". Would a denial need an approval? I have been waiting over 15 months for a decision. I am trying to think positive.

Thanks,

Boy talk about a "dumb" question!!! Just kidding. I would think it is an approval, however knowing the VA the way "we" do, it could be an approval of a denial. That being said, I think I'll go w/your feeling. Generally approvals over a certain retro ($25k, I think) require a higher level to approve the award. Also, the only dumb question is the one we don't ask. jmo

Pending decision approval means this and only this.

A tentative decision has been made but must be approved by the service center manager before it is issued.

That could be an award or a denial.

Broncovet,

I checked; no change. Good idea; will keep an eye on it.

Jbasser,

My thinking was the same as yours but I was hoping for more.

Thanks,vet12

Yes. Pending decision can be either. Sometimes the AB8 letter is the first place you know, and, sometimes, the retro hitting the bank is the first time you know. If the award letter is the first, it may mean you did not check the other sources first.

You can also check "payments" in ebenefits. The changes there may be reflected BEFORE it hits your bank.
