Correct me if I'm reading this wrong: "Daily room rate for residents is as follows: -Skilled Nursing Care:$231.00"

$231 X 365 = $84315

That's 231.00 monthly....is the way I read it.

231.00 x12 months 2,772 I think it depends on your income?

Yup! State laws usually determine how much the veteran and possibly next of kin are responsible for.

In some states, virtually all of the veteran's estate is involved.

But it says daily rate, not monthly.

Unfortunately, I believe that your calculations are correct. The VA is supposed to pay but they have a short list of homes that one can go to for nursing care. I think that what happens is they take about all the money you have and than go after spouses.

Yeah I seen that too 231 daily for room rates eh!

...I think it depends on the veterans income and VA Comp & SSD (Medicare is figured in after 20 days of stay).

I don't understand how any disable veteran can afford 221.00 a day, unless the VA Pays for it? and SSD?

I think this is just another ploy from the VA to confuse the veteran!
