Voc Rehab after GI Bill while employed?

Rate this question

Sergeant

Question

i have about 4 months of my Post 9-11 GI Bill left. I'm currently using it for an OJT program with the federal government. I'm not at the full pay rate for the job yet. Wondering if I'd be able to use VR either for the remainder of my OJT (1 and a half years left) or to complete my masters since I'll eventually need it to move up.

I commend your goals....They sure cant be easy with 100% SC now.

Voc Rehab does have some deadlines for application available at the VA web site but since you are on the GI bill now,I would think you have a OJT training person you could contact for that question...

http://www.benefits.va.gov/vocrehab/eligibility_and_entitlement.asp  ,seems to indicate your VRC  (who I called the OJT person but Voc Rehab Counselor (VRC )makes sense ) would help with a question like this, which is probably not that unusual.

I also wonder this too.... I went to college under Chap 35 , a little different from GI Bill, I am a civilian and all of my classmates were military, mostly AD and some veterans.

It seemed to me that the VA counselor who handled my Chap 35 stuff, also handled all of the GI bill stuff and I believe they did have vets at this school under Voc Rehab so someone can advise you via the VRE I am  sure....and probably the counselor you deal with the most....but I almost forgot my point.

I was told by a few vets that I could have applied for a Pell Grant as well as receiving Chapter 35 ( DEA Dependents Educational Assistance) but I never applied for that. Maybe someone here knows if that too is a resource available for you if you need it to help with school costs.

Also every college on line has a financial aid office too but this is OJT .......so maybe you have no access to a financial aid person other then the VRC?

Boy do I miss my college .......American Military University ,fully VA approved , GI Bill, Chap 35 etc etc , if anyone is interested and they transferred almost all of my past college credits into my degree program.
