ptsd 2 hour C&P after i have an hour with the PTSD doc

I am needing some help understanding why the VA is going to take all of this time.  Let me explain I have a current claim for multiple issues and I have 2 NOD in with the regional office.  They called me a month ago and ask me if I could reschedule and come in for a 2 hour session.  I asked why I could not do 2 different times and the person told me they had to do it all together even though the NOD's and the claim they are working are not the same.  

I am trying to figure out why they need 2 hours when I have already been to the specialist for everything and only 1 new item came up with the DRO.  I am very confused here, because they have settled half of my claim deferred 4 items and I am still waiting on all of the bigger issues.  Items like CFS-Dercum's disease-Sleep disturbances-joint pains and unknown illnesses.   

Does anyone know why they need this long?  and are they going to make me wait to see another specialist?  BTW this is going onto it's 2nd year.

its standard VA blocks of time.

They basically block off an amount of time for you based on whatever metric they use.  maybe its a  "this exam has taken between 30 minutes and 2 hours to complete for veterans" and ebcause the longest one took 2 hours they block that off.

This is subjective and not official or backed by evidence....but i have mentioned it before that i feel they block off time to either go to long lunches or catch up on paperwork.

For whatever reasons, the VA has a habit of dragging everything out, regardless of a veteran's inconvenience.

I can only speculate as to the 2 hours. Since you have multiple issues this may be the cause.

Or, playing Devil's advocate,  others, such as using multiple examiners, or even particular examiners, chosen for VA reasons.

A couple of years ago, I had an examiner sent to my semi-local VAMC from the VARO to do a phone call short notice Saturday Exam, even though the VAMC had the

appropriate specialty on staff. I ended up complaining to the VAMC C&P "go to" person, since it was rather obvious that the VARO examiner had minimal

computer skills associated with the C&P fill outs. Further, the exam was (I feel) deliberately conducted under environmental conditions that are not conducive to showing the symptoms of the condition.

do you think they will schedule more exams?  Or could this be the last one? for now that is as I am sure they will miss something.

I recently had a 2 hour exam and it turned out great.  It gave the doctor enough time to ask question and myself enough time to answer and explain what's going on with my health.  You aren't being rushed out the office.  The doctor was able to diagnosis disabilities that I didn't know was related to my current disabilities.  You will actually have enough time to explain what's going on and not have the examiner fill in the blanks for you (which in most cases don't bold well for the vet).  Why wouldn't a Veteran not want that?  Be grateful for your 2 hour exam because many vets didn't have that opportunity.  They was asked a few question and rushed out in 20 minutes.  Then a few months later their rating is decreased or denied.

That is not uncommon bud, on my last claim I had multiple C&Ps at 2 different VAs, one session lasted close to 6 hours with the Brain Scan and multiple C&Ps to include over 2 hrs for a PTSD review, then the next day 5 hrs at a another VA. Keep in mind that both of these VAs are over 200 and 300 miles round trip, and I found out the day before!!!   You do whatever the RO and VA wants, if it takes 30 exams in 30 days to get what you deserve then so be it!!!

Thanks so much for all of the input!  I see these longer visits turn out to be better and I am hoping to have the same result!  I will update this on Wednesday!  Thanks again for all of the support!
