Verbally denied GWI

Question

This is what an highly regarded environmental specialist had to say in my medical records. Since then I keep getting told that gulf war illness in not a real diagnosis. What do I do to get my docs to take this seriously? What can I do?

We talked about your exposures during your military service including your deployment(s) to Iraq You indicated that you were exposed to Burn pits, chemicals from industrial plant, exposure to organophosphates and unknown chemicals from manufacturing facility and Uranium. You would like to know whether your exposure(s)are related to development, migraines, fatigue, joint pain, PTSD, and DJD. The remainder of this discussion focuses on exposure concerns and their possible relationship to current health issues.

GULF WAR ILLNESS- Based on your description of your health issues and your exposures during your military service, your current symptoms and medical condition are consistent with, and meet the criteria for the VA case definition for Gulf War Illness/Syndrome. The VA case definition for Gulf War Syndrome is as follows: A medical condition affecting some veterans of the Gulf War, characterized by fatigue, headache, joint pain, skin rashes, nausea, dizziness, and respiratory disorders, and attributed to reactions to prophylactic drugs and vaccines, infectious diseases, or exposure to pesticides and other chemicals, radiation, and smoke from oil fires. Thanks everyone. I have not forgoten to attach the notes I promised. I just got the notes from the C&P today. I'm still reviewing them. Lots of info.

It seems as though the P.A. that did my C&P wrote things COMPLETELY different then the way the meeting went. In a good way though.

The meeting was terrible. The notes are AMAZING.

He completely agreed with the report from the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center at the V.A. in Palo Alto.

Report basically said that all my new problems were because of Gulf War Illness.

Broke down each issue that I claimed. The reason he would not talk to me about certain things related to GWI was because there was so much documentation that he didn't really need to.

If the rater goes off the C&P notes OR my medical notes from the V.A. then I should have a minimum rating of 60% for CFS, 30% Gerd, and a few others.

The following is directly from my C&P exam:

Veteran was seen by the Palo Alto VA "war related Illness and
 injury Study
center" seen recently Feb 2016. The conclusion of this study was
 that the
veteran has chronic fatigue syndrome, GERD, migratory muscle
 pain, and
chronic skin infections are all related to his gulf war service.

I will include more notes a little later but this is at the start of my C&P exam.

I think I redacted this enough. This is the info I was asked to provide. I will review this a few more times and redact more as needed. Also I will work on the C&P notes.....Even though there is not really many notes from the C&P. It is mostly questions and answers.  But Ill do what I can.

My apologies Doc but this does not look like a C & P Exam but more like a GULF War Exam, you can correct me if I am wrong but we all had to have these and mine was similar and my doctor recomended that I claim all but 2 or 3 conditions.  Keep in mind that C & P Exam are (Compensations and Pensions Exams) and their sole reason is to determine if a veteran is to be paid a compensation or pension or both.  A Gulf War Exam is to determine if a veteran has conditions/disabilities that are related to the Gulf War or his/her time served being deployed.

Ok so I had a chance to really review my C&P notes. I will include here what was asked of me above in the post. I originally misunderstood what was asked. My apologies.

I will say that the notes reflect a different tone then the C&P exam. The exam was very poor in my opinion but the notes seem favorable. I will try to break it down by disability.
