- In the work in process tab I have

submitted: 12/10/2015   type: compensation        status: gathering of evidences     updates: development letter sent   actions: upload documents

                                                                                                         AND IN

- Historical claims tab , I have

submitted: 03/01/2016   type:                               closed: 04/12/2016                        updates: decision notifications sent    actions: view appeal status

You came to the right place.  Welcome to hadit.

It sounds like you got your information from ebenefits, which, unfortunately is unreliable.

Did you apply for benefits within a year of exit from service?  If not, and you are still in the 1 year period, there are multiple advantages to applying within a year.  If you have issues not yet applied for, then apply right away.

I think what you are asking is "when will your benefits (compensation) arrive"?

We get that question a lot, and there is only one good answer:

"Your benefits will arrive when VA decides, and not one second earlier."   And, "when VA decides" can be a few months or several years.  You should hunker down for a long wait, even tho they COULD arrive fairly quickly with a "closed" claim.

"Closed" on ebenefits can happen for several reasons:  1. Errors (likely), 2. the claim is closed and finished and your benefits are on the way, or, 3.  like mine it was closed meaning the VA shredded my claim and deleted it off the system.

You wont get any benefits while still in the military.  I doubt you will get a decision while you are still in, but there is a program where the military can admit you were injured in service but its often a low percentage, and you need to try to get it upped, if you have been lowballed by the military.
