ptsd TBI v. Post Traumatic Headaches or Both???

This is my first time posting, so I hope it is to the right forum. If not, let me know and I'll repost it where it belongs.

Here's my issue....

I was recently medically retired and am trying to figure out whether or not I need file an appeal for my TBI claim.  I was injured during an airborne training exercise and was treated for a concussion which left me unconscious for nearly 2 hours (I suffered a concussion after blast in 2012, but no one can seem to locate my deployment medical records).   I was being treated at the TBI clinic for post-traumatic headaches for long enough that a med board was started and I still get them just as horribly today.  When I retired the military gave my 50% for my migraines, but the VA gave me 0% for a mild TBI.  The explanation I was given was that because my headaches gave me a larger percent and that they were separately diagnosed and treated, I was given a 0% rating for the TBI.  I know that my headaches are due to the TBI, but does that mean I qualify for 0 for it?  I have been through the list of residuals and facets of impairment and I have problems with many of them listed (memory, orientations, interactions, etc.).  Now I have VA docs trying to tell me that my headaches are due to PTSD, but I am still being seen by the TBI clinic.  If anyone has any insights, advice or words of wisdom they would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks and take care!
