Give consideration to discussing your possible "homeless" situation, with a VSO-Rep. Based on verifiable facts, just might get you a Hardship bump to the front of the Rating line. Doesn't guarantee an Award but you will at least know sooner rather than later, and that's always preferable with Claims Decisions.

Was your C & P conducted at your VMC? If so, get a copy of the C & P DBQ. That would take a major portion of the guesswork out of this. If you get the DBQ, post a redacted copy, the more info, the better.

My VSO tried that also, after consulting an appeals expert in our DO. There is a special way to do it without having to be homeless, which is a death defying experience in itself living among VA snitches. Someone here might know more specifics, but as far as I know, it's an internal VA process. I didn't even know what to ask for, if my VSO did not suggest it and implement it with the Appeals specialist at the DO office (and don't go near quiting time, 3pm.) The VSO's are getting OT after 3pm, but the rest of the staff are sitting in traffic by 2:30pm  :-0

My C&P examiner wore a poker face too.

They just don't want to lead us on maybe?

Sorry to hear you had an episode and hope you're doing better now.

Cross your fingers that the C&P exam was good enough and the

regional office gives you a fair rating.

*In contrast, after my mental C&P exam the woman taking my blood pressure

at VA 3 times in a row for my hypertension claim was lively and fun and

she wore alot of makeup. She laughed and said 'I don't know why they put

Scars on the hypertension DBQ'.

I've had all kinds of C & P docs. The worst was a an audiologist who was syrupy sweet to me beforehand, then went out of her way to be rude after it was over.

I got a copy of the test later. At the highest frequency it must have been turned all the way up. I told her that I could feel the tubes vibrating but couldn't hear a thing. The record showed she marked me as having heard the tone at a reasonable volume and noted that she was not in favor of an increase.

I requested another test and got an increase with a different audiologist.

I had been increased years earlier, but not to the extent Ideserved. The audiologist said to respond "even if I think I hear something" and falsified the chart.

Many years later the same guy checked me for otitis media. He was acting the S.O.B. from start to end and denied me. I filed an NOD and was approved.

These two people struck me as thinking all vets were con artists looking for a handout and it was their job to stick it to us and save the VA some money.

The rest of my examiners were very professional.

Be aware that some of the attitude comes from higher up.

When I moved to another state a VSO got red-faced and yelled at me when he found out I already had a 40% rating for hearing loss. He said hearing loss was 20% even if you're deaf. He told me not to be surprised if I was reduced to 20%.

It made me wonder how many severely hearing impaired vets he had undermined by writing that they were requesting a 20% rating! I got help from another source that very day!

Stoic is not necessarily bad. You might consider it professional, clinical and impartial and those can be the best. Good luck!

this right here says it all.

i had a horrible and confrontational C&P, but still, his outbursts allowed me a significant insight into how i needed to go about my Appeal. And what's more, according to muh Lawyer, I should have received 70% Scheduler Rating. So yeah, despite how horrible it was, i was LITERALLY approved the day after my C&P exam.......go figure
