Federal Disability Retirement Question - Federal Employees

I am a long term Fed who recently applied for Disability Retirement. I remember chatting with a few others on the forum who had similar backgrounds. I'm wondering how long it really takes for OPM to process disability retirements?

I am in the same boat. I was let go from my federal job for PTSD on 2 July. I put my disability retirement package in around the end of June. I received a call from an ABC counselor about a week after

It took me one year but HR sat on it until I pushed the issue. I had some fellow co workers that were close to retirement age and they got it in about 3 months from time of filing to decision.

In Oklahoma, from Tinker AFB, it was all said and done in 6 months. It all depends on your condition, skill set, and available slots in other career fields. They'll try to put a job placement
