Menieres

Question

Has anyone had success in having menieres service connected?  I have found in my service medical records, complaints of dizziness, vertigo and ear fullness a few times. Once the doctor wrote that it was eustachian tube dysfuction, but no tests were run.  I have had

this off and on for over 20 years but in the last year it has become chronic and debilitating, I thought it was possibly vestibular migraines without the pain because I get  the vertigo, dizziness, ear fullness without migraine pain.  I have a diagnosis from my current

otolaryngologist of menieres and he thinks that the early episodes of dizziness and ear fullness can be from the early symptoms of menieres.   If I file for menieres do you think I have a chance?

The crazy thing is that I thought it was vertigo from migraines and this doctor said no, it is separate from my migraines.  The VA neuro did nothing for me, she sent me to pt for a walker :(

Migraines are in different places in the head depending: mine is on the brain around the upper ears. Meniere's gives you the spins and can make you puke for up to an extended period (a day or two uneasiness once you get it.)

vestibular migraines can also cause vertigo and dizziness and there are often people who suffer from both menieres and vestibular migraines as well as those that are misdiagnosed :(  Vestibular disorders are incredibly hard to find an experienced specialist imo.  Thankfully, I found one.   My migraines make me puke for days and so does Menieres, there are many kinds of migraines and different symptoms, same with menieres.   The point was more that the lazy va neuro did nothing........zero and just said oh well, you are a fall risk and had that assessed and gave me a walker and a shower chair.  Lovely ;)  I have nothing good to say lately about my prior neuro or my current psych........but I have many other specialists at the VA that are so surprisingly amazing that I am thankful for them.
