Alex, aka "Asknod", a frequent contributor to hadit, has posted a website for Vets who are lacking a Nexus.

https://asknod.org/2017/01/10/va-nexus-letters-finally-a-go-to-source/  For the benefit of people new to hadit, (Or those who have a VSO who thinks a Nexus is ten year old car made by Toyota)  a "nexus" is a medical statement from your doctor that your condition is "at least as likely as not" due to an event in military service.  Its part of the "Big 3 Caluza" triangle which is required for service connection.

To review, the Veteran who seeks serivice connection needs 3 things:

1.  Current diagnosis

2.  In service event or aggravation.

3.  Nexus, or medical link between one and 2.  For more information on the Caluza Triangle see Caluza vs Brown:  https://veteranclaimsresearchcases.wordpress.com/2008/12/25/caluza-v-brown-no-90-0818/

So, if you are new and seeking service connection, you should order your cfile and see if any of your doctors stated anything close to "the Veterans medical condition is at least as likely as not" due to x event in military service.

If your cfile has such a statment, you are good to go with a nexus.  If your medical file does not contain a similiar statement, then consider going to this asknod site, and see what it would take to get said nexus.

Asknod has commented that, over and over again, we see cases where the Veteran appeals his claim and there is no nexus, usually those represented by a VSO.  Its a no brainer for VA to deny you.  No nexus = no benefits.

I will add here that, if you are seeking secondary service connection, you dont need number 2, above.   You have already established "an in service event or aggravation", number 2 above, with your primary service connection.  You now need a nexus linking your current diagnosis to your primary service connected condtion.
