Question

I'm planning to file a claim for several issues I've been having since separating in 2013. I didn't file a claim at EAS, but met with a VSO last week. I was planning to file a claim only for recurring pain and urinary issues I've had since a pyeloplasty completed in service. While going through my records, he asked if several things were still bothering me, then recommended that I file claims for those things. From what I've read, because I've been out so long, it will be almost impossible to win anything without continuous symptoms, treatment, and a solid medical opinion. He didn't seem to think that was necessary. He just recommended that I see a PCP to get a current diagnosis.

Does he sound a little inexperienced, or is that not necessary because I have that stuff documented in my service records?

Sounds about right I wasn't service connected for my TBI until this year so I had a 6 year lapse since treatment is so expensive. But now I am going regularly filed for IU month later granted. That's just me so it sounds ok when you go to your C&P that's what decides your overall impairment

I was diagnosed with a UPJ obstruction, which resulted in severe hydronephrosis and required the pyeloplasty. The hydronephrosis improved following the surgery, but scans still showed it occuring. I still get pain once in awhile, and have to use the bathroom just once every couple hours or less. My question is if hydronephrosis and freqent urination are two separate claims, or just one?
