Cytocele/Rectocele

Rate this question

Question

I am still active duty. I was recently diagnosed with a cytocele & a rectocele. When looking at the ratings for these, it says complications of pregnancy. I had my children prior to entering the military. I am confused on whether I will be able to claim these or not since they didn't happen until during service, but pregnancy was prior to service. I also have 1 more question, if I can claim them & choose to have them repaired, am I not longer eligible?

The CFR# for this condition is 3.350 ( loss of use) under special monthly compensation ratings ,''  for special purpose''

The Diagnostic code # is 7623

The rating is for pregnancy surgical complication of

with rectocele or cytsocele  is 50%  with relaxation of perineum 10%

You can get both of these ratings. even though you had your children before military, who is to say you may  not want more children after or during your military career ?.....that is your choice.

This could also be a case of hemorrhoids as to the rectocele:

The only case I could find at the BVA with those disabilities is this one.

  https://www.va.gov/vetapp03/Files/0332944.txt

Make sure when you are discharged that these conditions are noted on your exit physical and make sure you leave with a full copy of your SMRs.If you claim the rectocele and cytocele, and the procedure they do corrects that, a claim would at least establish, with a "0" SC rating, that if the conditions got worse you could file for increase.

This is how VA rates hemmoroids:

7336   Hemorrhoids, external or internal:

With persistent bleeding and with secondary anemia, or with fissures

20

Large or thrombotic, irreducible, with excessive redundant tissue, evidencing frequent recurrences

10

Mild or moderate
