Prep for decision without C&P

2/15/2017 - claim put in on ebenefits. Claiming left shoulder condition, left shoulder arthritis, left knee condition. All information was uploaded private medical records that include current diagnosis, nexus letter for each condition, buddy letters and personal statements. The conditions I am applying for are all mentioned in my SMR. Status changed to under review shortly after putting claim in. 

2/22/2017 - Changed to gathering of evidence. 

4/4/2017- Changed to preparation for decision. 

This is concerning to because I did not have a C&P exam yet. Thinking all signs pointing to denial? Anyone else ever had this happen to there claim?

There are 2 obvious possibilities:

1.  An exam is not needed because you have the nexus, in service event, and diagnosis already in place.

2.  An exam is not needed because you fail to meet eligibility criteria where a C and P exam would not fix that.  For example, let's say you had a bad discharge, or did not have the requiste period of service.  

The VA does not order an exam in both of the above.  Exams are not always necessary.

1. I do have all of those and actually I have recent ROM for all the conditions  claimed due to attending PT.

There's a chance this could be a positive but I'm not holding my breath.

I would think it would be good  even without a C&P b/c they have reviewed  your claim and went into gathering evidence and then in prep for decision,   It should be an approval...but we never know, IF They Service Connect'' the hard part is over,  although you may need to NOD if they give you a low-ball rating  so watch that.....look to see what your rating should be on your S.C. Disability's

Thanks! I hope your right! I'll be sure to update thus tread if there any change or of the claim gets accepted. Agreed getting it service connected is key.
