Thank you for your post.

Yes, you can dispute and appeal any portion of the decision.  I have appealed "just" the effective date, in the past, for example.

Alex appealed and won an ILP greenhouse.

I also appled for a power chair, as I have swelling (knee) that would benefit by raising the knees above the heart, as done with a "zero gravity" power chair.   Raising the knee above the heart, helps drain the fluid build up in the knee.  (Its called the "trundellenburg" position, with the head lower than the feet).

VA denied, saying that its "furniture" and not  a medical appliance.  Of course, the chair I need is "only" available at medmart and other medical places, not a furniture store.

Now I know the VA was lying to me (again) when they denied the chair.

You need to ask your VA PCP to write you an order for a power chair, and you should be able to pick it up the next day or two.  usually when a VA Dr orders something  the Veteran gets it.

check out the ILP for a grant to reconstruct your home to where you can get your doors wide and chair ramp  to your porch or stairs to your home  VA has grants to help disabled Vets.

CHECK WITH the VBA OFFICE

Independent Living Program  ''ILP'' Ask your PCP if you qualify   which you do!
