How can I, as a Veterans Service Representative? Request the VA to allow a Veterans son to be the Fiduciary of the Veterans benefits. If the Veteran has been deemed incompetent?

They keep scheduling me an appointment but not telling me about it. This really sucks because now I have a "no show" on my record. I didn't even know that someone made me the appointment, because they didn't call me ahead of time. I am having problems with one department/clinic that makes appointments for veterans, but doesn't bother to call them to tell them that they made the appointment. They don't call to ask the veteran when is a good time for him/her...they just make the appointment and expect the vet to show up. I found out when I got a call from the automated message system that said "The patient who's birthday is on xx/xx/xxxx has an appointment at the VA Med…

Why arrive 20 minutes early if 40 minutes after appointment time you are still not even called by a nurse? The clerk said my doc was running behind. Yeah, right... I mentioned using the kiosk and was told that this was the second Tim that happened today. Yeah, right... Was seen by the nurse moments later, but still waiting to be seen...

If I am housebound "S" why can't I get Fee Base regardless of how close I live to the VA hospital in my area? As it is I have to drive 20 miles to the local VA hospital just to get blood work. If I am HB why can't I get Fee Base just because I live within 100 miles of a VA hospital. Do others think I could get Fee Base since I am SMC "S"?

Lumbar spine MRI: Multiplanar and multisequence imaging through the lumbar spine was performed. Findings: The vertebral bodies maintain normal signal characteristics and morphology. Conus ends normally at the thoracolumbar junction. At L4-L5 there is a annular tear at the 6 to 7:00 position associated with a small paracentral disc extrusion. There is also minimal facet arthrosis. There is slight deviation of the right L5 nerve roots in the lateral recess. There is no significant foraminal narrowing. At L5-S1 there is broad-based disc bulge without focal protrusion. There is also mild bilateral facet arthrosis resulting in mild bilateral neural foraminal stenosis. There is…

I wanted to find out if VA has a program to help with gas assistance for VA appts? The VA is requesting me to go to so many appts but we literally do not have the money for the gas it is costing us. It is already really tight with me not working and my husband just got a new job but because we are behind on everything, we run out of money before the next pay (he gets paid every 2 wks). It is at a point that I can't go to the appt they want me too because we don't have enough gas. It is really embarrassing but I know things are about to change around soon so I'm keeping hope. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I am 100%, and VA Care has been excellent. Problem is I have a very bad heart, just got out of the local private hospital after an emergency and five day stay. I need a local cardiologist, not one 60 some miles away (I don't drive, ride shuttle), I need a local pace maker dr., not one half way across the state. I need local dental care as well. The primary dr. is 20 miles away at the VA clinic. I am getting to weak to make the trips, I need to be seen more often, and I need a dr. & cardio dr. that are local and available when I have an immedient problem, and who know my case, who can come to emergency with full knowledge of my med background. So is it possible…

After spending hours on the phone getting nowhere, maybe this forum can help me. My husband suffered a heart attack last week Monday, was taken to the ER at our local non VA hospital. Admission is aware that he is a veteran. I also contacted VA myself to inform them about this heart attack. Since then he has received 2 stent, has been moved out of ICU and is on the road to recovery. The cardiologist wants to implant an ICD before he leaves the hospital as a necessary precaution. Apparently the 1 hour drive to Tampa is too much of a risk. My husband is a Desert Storm Veteran in Group 5 due to his low income. Is this procedure covered by VA? He has no insurance from emp…

The VA called me today and asked me since the VA was late on providing me a dental exam would I be up for a referral to a private dentist for an exam. This is directly related to the 30 day wait for care that has evolved out of the scandal. I said I would be up for it. Maybe I can get the Aholes to pay for my crown that has to go on top of the implant I got via private dentist. The last time I asked for an implant the VA said "NO" not necessary. This was completely untrue according to two other dentists I spoke to about it. I might even see if I can get them to pay for part of the implant, or I will call my congress critter. I frankly don't trust the dentists at th…

I was unable to receive a colonoscopy through VA Manila Regional Office and decided rather than pay to have one done in Manila to return to the US and seek the test through VA Long Beach in case follow up treatment was required. I "Presented" with blood in the stool, which continues. So, this is not a simple ten year screening. Additionally, I have a persistent UTI and BPH that needs to be treated, which his not Service Connected and thus not covered by the VA Manila Regional Office due to not being "Service Connected Disability". I arrived at a time that all of the negative publicity was airing in the news regarding long wait times and Veteran's death's while waiting …
