Success with 2017 regulation changes on Hypothyroidism and GERD?
Back in 2017 regulation changed for a few conditions and I was wanting to put some feelers out there for people that have had success with getting a higher rating for these conditions because of the regulation and law changes that pertained to these conditions. Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders, (IBS, GERD, Chronic Diarrhea) , Hypothyroidism, Rhinitis , Sinusitis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

VA Home Loan Foreclosure Assistance
Anybody have any experience dealing with a VA Home Loan Technician regarding a foreclosure? Better yet, any inside info? I’m in Florida, but for some reason my loan is assigned to Phoenix, and I’m not really getting anywhere as far as assistance. I’ve tried the White House hotline.

File for IBS increase
What is needed to file for an increase in IBS? I have requested copies of my treatment notes from my provider. They initially gave me a 0% rating because they said I didn't make complaints of pain and abdominal distress. I stated I had pain and distress in my statement in support of claim but my old Dr never reported it in my treatment notes. I have since corrected that problem by complaining about my pain and distress at every single visit, and making sure that she reports it in my treatment notes. Is there anything else needed to support my request for increase? Thanks.

DONT USE VSO
hasnt anyone figured out that the best way to decrease appeal time is to urge congress to stop allowing money for the VSO. as long as they are paid by the amount of people they have through the government coffers than we will never get what we need think about it folks. they need lengthy appeals so they get there money every year. if they fought and won every week than they would be brok because they just dont have that type of inventory and thats all we are to them is inventory and numbers. HEY HEY HEY,,, VSO MUST GO !!!!!

Epileptic Seizures
I happen to be a Vietnam veteran and I am in this venue for my son. He is an OEF Vet and he never had since serving in the Army...1st,CAV., he came home with grand mal seizures. Yes, the VA provides meds for him and gave him an honorable discharge and medical retirement . MY QUESTION IS... IS THERE ANY CONNECTION WITH EPILEPSY AND THE REQUIRED ANTHRAX VACCINE AND/OR BURN PITS ?

Afghanistan vet awarded for Burn pit exposure
This article states: "The VA doesn’t automatically assume service connection when veterans seek benefits for illnesses they contend were caused by exposure to military burn pits. Advocates are urging Congress to pass legislation which would do that. The VA maintains that more research is needed and, in the meantime, considers applications like Antioho’s on a case-by-case basis. It rejected 80 percent of the 12,378 burn pit disability claims filed between June 2007 and last March 31, according to VA statistics. https://www.middletownpress.com/middletown/article/CT-vet-exposed-to-toxic-burn-pits-gets-benefits-13910941.php" Antioho's gioblastoma brain cancer…

TDIU/P&T
Hello everyone have a question! I am on TDIU. My award letter states that I have a combined rating of 90% P&T with no future exams scheduled. My question is this! Should I try and pursue 100% flat P&T, and if so how? The second part of my question is will this change or remain the same?

SC Claim - from beginning to end.
Hello! First off, Thank you all! - for this website, your time, and your passion towards helping fellow veterans! Started the PEB process on active duty (2012 at the time), so I'm just trying to sort this out and find where things went wrong. The claims submitted among this process only listed 3 contentions - of which the DoD rated me unfit at 10% W/ severance pay, while the VA rated those conditions (totaled) to 40% upon exiting service. My story - First, I don't agree with the PEB findings, but I signed off on it at the time without a full understanding of "what I could claim", so once the ball got rolling I found myself trying to corre…

JP8 exposure in Iraq
first i just wanted to see if any one out there that was not aviation remembers using JP8 for multi-fuel vehicles while serving in Iraq. i was in 07-08 and we used JP8 strictly for our trucks and Humvee and ASV's. please share your stories: when where and what types of vehicles as well as your exposure level. i am working on a JP8 claim and wanted to see how many of us out there actually were exposed. second, and this is for the claims specialists here on the site(yes we know you are giving legal advice and your not lawyers but damn if you dont have the knowledge and probably could easily become one): how can we prove JP8 exposure if we werent in an aviation fe…

VA Training Programs for 100% PT Vet

Confused new guy
Hello all, I just recently separated from the service with a medical retirement, and I received a call from the VA that they want to do a PFT. My concern is that every time I get a PFT they say everything is normal, however, I still use inhalers daily for my exercise induced asthma as well as when my allergies get bad. Will I run the risk of having my ratings reduced? I recently requested referrals to pain management and to the allergy clinic to see if I can raise my percentage since I feel that my C&P exam was somewhat unfair. And the best part about it is that my medical records from Iraq is either nonexistent or the Chinese and Russians have it, just like my S…

ptsd HELP needed~
Hello brothers & sisters, been trying to post on another thread, however, I can't post on the Veterans from OIF, etc. But I can post here.. Weird! Anyway, I wanted to post a question to those that have more knowledge than me. I want to notify my employer of my service disconnected disabilities, I'm currently rated at 90% and it's been a PITA to reach a 100% but that's a topic for another discussion. What would be the best way to notify my employer of my service connected disabilities without providing them with too much information? I fear that they will require me to release my VA medical treatment records, etc. I have been working for 11 years in my career f…

Where is justice? Notice of Judgment Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals
When will justice scream it's name. All this time I thought “WE” actually had a fair chance, that maybe, the law would correct and hold KBR ect., accountable for their part in the Gulf War illnesses. No such luck. The Court of Appeals in their grand wisdom affirmed and vacated the previous decision and the case will not be heard any longer. Still trying to get the details from the attorney but this is a bit heartbreaking. What the hell is wrong with the courts. Ten years in the appeals process and sadly it appears as justice will not be served this time. FUBAR ‘ed decision. It saddens me. At least Oregon is having a nice hot day and I was relaxed in the pool…

Health issue
Good evening, I was wonder about health issue, due to having to go to the hospital due to chest, stomach and back pain this past week. Hospital did checks on Heart, blood work , and ultrasound on my liver, pancreas, stomach, and kidney as to find the issue and nothing was found. They think it might have been stomach acid issue or some ulcers but they didn't find anything. They prescribe me some anti acid med. The Pain to a while to go , which was a about over 4 hours before it even taper off. This all happened after just eating. They said to get with my Dr and have more further in depth look at this. Is this something that should make and appoint with the VA as…

100% Disability Rating Wants To Start Working Again
Hi everyone, I am 31 years old right now and I have had 100% rating for about a year.. I am ready to start working again. I have been mentally conditioning myself everyday with positive reinforcement tapes. I don't want to be limited by the rating and I want to go back out and start trying to make mown living. How can I go about this in the best way? should I first try some voc rehab program or back to work programs? I am not sure what I would be best suited to do, but I worked a lot in tv production and I am an artist and I want to go back into that field. Can I get my rating pushed back 10% or something so I can work?? should I just start working? how can I ease in…
