A&A For Totally Disabled Veteran Spouse?
Any body know about the New A&A Program For Vietnam Veterans spouses that are totally disabled and in Need of another person to help with most daily activities , this program started some time back but was for mostly Gulf War Vets and 911 But recently the VA has made a prevision so that Vietnam Veterans spouses that are totally disable use the A&A Program...in need of assistance. I read that its only for 100% P&T Veterans spouses...they add to the Veterans monthly compensation pay However when I went to check the eligibility online they said my income was to much that this was for Veterans with an income less than 2000.00 monthly. so may…

Can I receive Post 911 Caregiver and apply for A&A
Can I apply for A&A, while currently on Post 911 Caregiver program at the Highest Tier? My VA MH Doc filled out my DBQ for increase on PTSD I should have done this 2 years ago, but I absolutely hate the PTSD C&P Exams. If I apply for A&A, or SMC which should I apply for? Thanks in advance

Caregiver and eligibility of Veteran
Hello all! I haven’t had the need to post here in a long time, but it sure was helpful then. My husband is 100% PTSD disabled. Now he is diagnosed with a dementia. I read that Vietnam vets are twice as likely to develop dementia, however it is not now on the list of presumptive diseases, as was his prostate cancer… Multi-infarct, vascular dementia is suspected—MRI pending. He also has obstructive sleep apnea and REM sleep disorder related to the PTSD. All pointing to cause of dementia. Can someone tell me about receiving caregiver compensation. He can no longer drive and forgets to do some of his self cares. I have been to the VA caregi…

Caregiver denial
Hello, We applied for Caregiver Support (PCACF) for me to care for my husband 100% VA disabled: PTSD, REM behavior sleep disorder, obstructive sleep apnea, prostate CA Most recent diagnosis is vascular dementia, for which we applied for PCACF. His symptoms are mild at this point as far as he can do his personal cares himself, although I strongly encourage a daily shower and changing out of PJs at some point during the day… The denial letter states that he is able to drive, which he absolutely cannot as reported to his VA doctor by neuro psyche. Also, there is no mention that I manage all his medications: ordering, doling them out, and reminding him to…

CAREGIVER EXTENSION 9/2022
Not a question, just wanted to inform those of you in the Caregiver PCAFC program, if you were recently dismissed and are still within the period of appeal or review a notice will be coming out to extend current PCAFC another 3 years. I contacted VISN 19 and verified this, but letters have not yet been sent. So many complaints have caused them to consider review and changing their guidance and explanations.
