http://www.pbm.va.gov/NationalFormulary.aspx VA Prescription Benefits Many veterans prefer to have their prescriptions filled at the St. Louis VA Medical Center to take advantage of the pharmacy benefit available to veterans. The VA Medical Center Pharmacy cannot fill prescriptions written by non-VA physicians. Patients are eligible for medications only for those conditions for which they are receiving active treatment at the VA Medical Center. The VA Medical Center will not provide medications that are not listed on the VA Medication Formulary

Pete posted this today so I am pinning it as a topic. Hate to tell you all but your local pharmacy has nothing to do but fill new prescriptions. The VA has centralized all the mails by med for better efficiency . They have a new 800 number (800) 983-0933 8am to 4;30 pm CST.

I received a letter from the VA Medical Center in Fayeteville, Ark stating that on May 6, 2013 the VHCS is looking at the safety of prescription narcotics. Your primary care team will work with you and review the narcotics you are taking. This may result in a change to your medications. The goal is to reduce the side effects that occur from narcotic use including: Depression Impotence Suicidal Ideation Decreased ability to breathe We want to find a plan to fit your needs. VHSO has many ways to help you with this goal. The first step is to review the pain medicines you are taking and decide if you need to make a plan. You and your primary care team can explo…

Hi, I've not been on here in a long time, you guys helped me get my 100% rating 3 years ago, since then, I've also been awarded 100% SSD. But anyways, here's what happened. The VA said I violated my pain contract when I moved from one state to another and received pain meds from two separate facilities (which I did). I have serious heart problems, CHF, ICD/Pacemaker, high blood pressure, chronic back pain, and a host of other medical conditions, all treated by VA doctors. I've been reading that abruptly stopping narcotic pain meds can cause stroke, serious withdrawal symptoms, spikes in blood pressure, and basically 30-60 days of hellish torture to which my bod…

Last spring when I was at VA. I gave the list of drugs that I was taking. The primary Doctor at Va said half the thing on list they don't have or cover. Is there a list of prescription drugs that VA cover's? Like my Lupron shot for my Cancer is $2,300 out pocket. Right now i have privite insurance, which I'm going to lose shortly. What does a Vet. do that is unemployed?

First, let me say I never do drugs (except what my doc prescribes) and I very rarely drink alcohol. Last Friday I had a ortho appt for my knees. After that, I had labs scheduled for liver function, cholesterol levels, etc. Between the two appts I stopped by the restroom because I was about to bust. Then, when I show up at the lab, they tell me I have to give a urine sample for a drug screen. Well, I told them that I had just went, and couldn't give them a sample now. They told me to drink some water and hang out until I could. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but my in-laws were visiting from Austin, TX last week and we had plans for the rest of the day with them. …

How do you determine the VA's method of calculating your disability. I have just received a copy of my c-file, and had hoped there would be information, or a work sheet that showed the process. I am rated on both knees, both hips, and a shoulder. If anyone can shed light on the subject please let me know. My total disabilty is 70%, and I can't tell the order of the disabilities or how they are used. Thanks for the input!

Here I sit in the never never land of my xanax being 1 week late on a wednesday to it will be 9 days Friday and 12 days before the VA will accept a complaint and another 3 to 10 days to get it. Or if they lost it or it was stolen I will have to borrow from next months which always seems to be their answer to the problem they caused. Instead I think I will call my HMO Doc and ask him to write a half presecription but still call VA and ask whats up.

I take 1200 mg gaba and 7.5 mg meloxicam every day. Since I started ive noticed that at two times of the day-around noon-1 oclock and around 4-6 oclock I get really drowsy at work. I come home and almost every day after i hit teh door at 530-600 and say hi, how was your day and talk to the kids I end up crashing for between 1-2 hours. Does anyone else have dips like this on either of these? I wasn't doing it before I started taking them.
