I got a call today from VA Medical. I asked what the call was about & she said that since I am taking Tramadol, they want to do a urine drug screening test on me since I am taking Tramadol for pain. I asked her why are you all doing this and she said she does not know, " I am just following orders". Yes I am taking Tramadol for pain but I never heard of this before. I got to go give my urine for a drug screen within the next two days. Anybody out there have had to do this or heard of any veteran had to do this? I am wondering why's the VA doing this? What is this for?

Probably redundant if so I apologize I just received a rating of IHD 10%, PC 40%.= 50%. My question is what benefits am I entitled to with a 50% rating. Have not been to a VA doctor so I am confused as to my next step to see a VA doctor. I am enrolled and have seen a eye doctor. Will they only treat my disabilities? Want all I am entitled to but no more. Thanks

As any one of you that has PTSD w (Social Anxiety ) ever had problems with your VA LC.S.W Therapist? He mention to me that he has seen an improvement with me and I feel I have not improved as he says, (JUST ASK MY SPOUSE) I still have high anxiety and at times its through the roof, I did mention to him that I have to force myself to be sociable even around family, and that's very hard to do for the ones that know what I mean here. Well I told him yesterday I try to calm down & make my self calm when I feel the anxiety coming on and start to breath out as he has mention to me that does help some but it don't keep the anxiety from starting up...I've …

Here I sit in the never never land of my xanax being 1 week late on a wednesday to it will be 9 days Friday and 12 days before the VA will accept a complaint and another 3 to 10 days to get it. Or if they lost it or it was stolen I will have to borrow from next months which always seems to be their answer to the problem they caused. Instead I think I will call my HMO Doc and ask him to write a half presecription but still call VA and ask whats up.

Hi all. Does anyone know that once a ChampVA beneficiary signs up for Medicare , will the Meds by Mail Rx portion of ChampVA continue to cover prescriptions at the local pharmacy, just as it does now? I receive my maintenance meds in the mail and now and then, I get a prescription, like an antibiotic, that's just a one time thing, and Meds by Mail (used to be called Catarmaran, now it's optorx or something like that) covers that too. Does all this stay the same? I know if I sign up for a part D, I will lose Meds by Mail. Maybe I am overthinking this???

Does anyone have expierence with this drug? It's main purpose is for withdrawal of narcotics and pain meds, however is fairly new for pain management. The VA sent me to a fee based pain management clinic that prescribed me this drug. The VA then was reluctant to fill the prescriptiont due to it being used "off label" for my pain management. Also it supposedly will block any other narcotics and/or pain meds while you're on it disabling "break through" pain management. I believe it may be a mistake for me to use this med, but am willing to try anything for the pain. Any input or advice appreciated.

I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C by the VA in December 2016. I was told by my primary care provider at the CBOC (Community Based Outpatient Clinic) that I would have to be completely sober and clean for six months before I could get a consult to the Hepatology Specialty Clinic in order to receive Harvoni treatment. In January 2017 I self admitted to a VA Mental Health Facility for PTSD and Substance Abuse Treatment. I was told the same thing by my treatment team at that facility..that I would have to wait til I left there before I could go to Hepatology. The Nurse Practitioners at this facility wouldn't even allow me to get the CT Scan of my liver completed at the hospita…

I received a letter from the VA Medical Center in Fayeteville, Ark stating that on May 6, 2013 the VHCS is looking at the safety of prescription narcotics. Your primary care team will work with you and review the narcotics you are taking. This may result in a change to your medications. The goal is to reduce the side effects that occur from narcotic use including: Depression Impotence Suicidal Ideation Decreased ability to breathe We want to find a plan to fit your needs. VHSO has many ways to help you with this goal. The first step is to review the pain medicines you are taking and decide if you need to make a plan. You and your primary care team can explo…

Am I the ONLY ONE OUTRAGED by this prejudiced, stigmatizing, doubled standard *%#! calling VETERANS drug addicts!! That is exactly what is happening here! Oh, Holy Mother of God! How are you all not speaking out about this injustice? We have bore the Injuries on the Battlefields resulting in lifetime injuries of pain and suffering to our Knees, from jumping out of planes, boats, trucks, helicopters; to our Necks and Spines from carrying the loads not meant for the human body; suffered the TBIs -with constant migraines....these are but a few that are DENIED their CHRONIC PAIN MEDS by the very Doctors in Chronic Pain Clinics by Anesthesiologists that receive their training…

The withdrawal must be worse than the pain was for some... I will always stick up for Tiger and I hate the way they keep showing his arrest. Scripts have made grandparents and young teenagers with sports injuries.....addicts......as well as many of our nation's veterans.

In December I was in the hospital for 3 days, I had a battery of tests EKG, ECG, Nuclear Stress Tests. I have an Ejection Fraction of 41%. On Friday I went to a cardiology clinic at the local CBOC for an ECG. The tech that did the test informed me that I would need to go to the main VA Hospital as she could not get a good picture. I would need a thing called "Difinity" for a marker. I would be having to schedule another visit when they called me. I get a call today from the VA PCP nurse; she tells me that the Doctor wants me to know that my heart looks strong. To which I let her know that was great news considering that the tech told me she did not get a good picture. I t…
