I was awarded 10% for hypertension back in 1997 and was taking vasotec 15 mg. However, after incurring a severe heart condition, and I now take verapamil 240 mg er 1/ day and propafenone hydrochloride 325 mg er 2 / day. I have a pacemaker for bradycardia, supraventricular tachychardia, and sss. I gave up filing for the pacemaker. My va rep said he didn't want to deal with it and my doctors won't give me any type of statements to help me out. So, now I will file alone for my meds. The question is..Do I upload my prescriptions on ebenefits.gov under a new claim or should I find a mental hospital and sign in? Don't think i can take much more of this.

Just got my 35th yr, give or take a few yrs, Flu shot. Still alive and that's what it's all about. right. Each year, the Flu is a real Life Taker, always has been. primarily among young children and the elderly (me now). While discussing the Pros & Cons of the Yrly Flu Shot with the VA RN, he brought up an interesting point. The Flu shot is not designed to stop you from getting the Flu, it's Primary function is to STOP the Flu from Killing you. With that in mind, as long as I'm vertical & above Dirt, I'll continue to get my yrly Flu Shot. Don't be a --$$y, get your Flu Shot Now! Semper Fi

Couple weeks ago I had my spouse to call the VA and let them know She needed to take me to the nearest E.R. because of my Breathing and Flu like symptoms I could not drive and my spouse can't drive via Free ways here in Dallas , so the VA LADY told my spouse to take me to the nearest E.R. and if they admitted me in the hospital to call the VAMC and they would send an ambulance to pick me up and take me back to the VAMC, (they never admitted me) Well this E.R. I went to only seem me about 30 minutes did my blood pressure and took my fever, swab my nose and said I had a bad case of the influenza ( FLU) They gave me a prescription to get some medications which I cou…

Howdy all. The VA fills my prescriptions and bills BlueCross. The pharmacy that is used by BlueCross bills me for the co-pays. I thought that 50% compensable vets did not have to pay co-pays. Am I missing something? Thanks Frank

I've been taking Morphine SR 15mgs 2x a day for over a year now and all it has done is keep my in my bedroom the majority of the time. A friend of mine who was in an automobile accident some years ago takes both Oxycodone 60mgs 4x a day and Morphine SR 100mgs 3x a day. I asked him how does he even get out of the house. He told me his doctor (private doctors by the way) gave him Adderall to help counter the drowziness of the Morphine SR. Has anybody on here taken both Morphine SR and Adderall? Does it help with "pepping" you up while taking the Morphine SR? I am tired of feeling tired and weak all the time while dealing with the pain on top of that. So I asked …

I turn 65 on my next birthday in July. I need to file on Medicare but don't know which plan to get? Plan A OR Plan B or the other plan? Right now all I have is the VA Health Care for me and no additional supplemental Insurance..the wife has ChampVA & a Delta Dental and Sellman supplemental but I'm not covered for those & for the two the premiums are about 120.00 month. I can't afford any more supplemental Insurance for me. but may need it? with Health Care Cost going up every year I need to get me a Plan. Will my Medicare take over when I turn 65? and use the private Dr's? if so what Plan should I choose on Medicare? If I…

If you have ever wondered why you were not offered certain medication by your VA provider, there may be several reasons. The VA uses something called the national pharmalary list.. check it out here. but first read the rest of this post. http://www.pbm.va.gov/apps/VANationalFormulary/ what I have found personally is that due to costs of certain medications, even though they are on the national pharmalary list, these medications will not be offered to you by your care provider. heres an example. many pain sufferers who have tried various medications such as opiate based, and other meds such as gapapentin, tramadal , ect have not gotten much relief. There is anothe…

Somehow my pain meds got lost during the shipping process by UPS. I just don't know, but the VA refused to replace the meds that were lost. I told them that for ten years I had never had a dirty urine test or broke any of the rules for use of opiates prescribed by the VA. No dice even though I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms from the Oxycodone. They would not lift a finger to help me in any way, shape or form. So all you vets who may depend on the VA for pain meds just forget about it because they are just scared to adequately treat your pain and will stop your meds for any minor excuse.

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here in years but wanted to get opinions on this topic. I was introduced to Young Living essential oils in March '16 and since then I have gotten off of all of my VA meds that I used for PTSD, headaches, sleeplessness, anxiety, panic attacks, etc. I was on about 10 different prescriptions but when my mom died in Sep '15 of a heart attack which we think stemmed from all of the prescription meds she was on I stopped everything and started looking for more natural ways to do things for me and my daughter. They have helped me tremendously and I am trying to let more and more vets know about this. The person who introduced me to YL is a veteran h…
